Dr. Rolando Vega, MD

Only saw him twice my whole pregnancy (cause he was never in office) and without any prior health complications other than my previous child being born at 10Ibs, he pushed me for a scheduled induction and he wanted a c-section. My MFM specialist advised against this and said there was no need. Dr. Vega response to that was “of course the specialist isn’t worried about the babies size, he’s not the one assuming risk in the delivery”. He scheduled it anyway and my son was born at 38 weeks (or so they thought). When he arrived he had RDS and they said his lungs were underdeveloped and that he was measuring at 35 weeks actually and only weighed 6Ibs 8oz. He had to spend 3 weeks in the NICU and all doctor Vega had to say was “he will be fine”.

Since 2009 Dr.Vega has been my doctor for all 4 of my pregnancies. I was on strict bedrest and kept going into pre term labor. He feels like family to me. I highly recommend him for care.

Dr. Vega was kind, but as I wanted a non-medicated birth, he assured me at the point where I was in active labor I would have to be laying down. I was also instructed to not come to the hospital until my labor contractions were consistent for 2 hours. The first hour of my labor was really easy and contractions were not unlike cramps, I waited, but after the first hour, I was unable to move from my comfortable position, and my son was born at home within the hour. Labor 2 hours start to finish.
