I would not recommend Dr. Lord. I went to him with symptoms of a macular hole, and he was dismissive of my description of the rapid progression of symptoms, and diagnosed me with untreatable age related macular degeneration, scheduling a follow up appointment for 1 year later. After six months of increasing vision loss, I decided to get a second opinion. I was correctly diagnosed with a macular hole, which had become very large over the time since seeing Dr. Lord. Surgery successfully repaired the hole, and now I can read again with that eye. If it had been left untreated much longer, I would have become permanently blind in that eye. Please do not trust your vision to Dr. Lord!

I suffered an eye stroke during the summer of 2016, resulting in a retinal vein occlusion and blurred vision in the right eye. I was worried about the deterioration of my eye, but fortunately found Dr. Ken Lord. My wife and I lived and traveled in a travel trailer for 6.5 years and Dr. Lord saved my ability to drive and enjoy the outdoors with his diagnosis and treatment. Nobody wants to face a needle injected into one's eye, but Dr. Lord's skill and chair side manner put me at ease; the shot was painless and took only a second. Dr. Lord was able to improve and maintain my overall vision at 20/20 (after cataract surgery) over the period of five years, after which I left Utah; losing Dr. Lord's care is a personal loss to the confidence I had in my vision. My wife and I will miss his knowledge, skill, and personal character. I would be remiss if I didn't mention his professional and caring staff; every one of them was attentive and prompt. We will miss you, Dr. Lord. Thank you.

I saw Dr. Carlson, hands down he is the best doctor I have ever seen. He came in on Sunday, after hours to see me. He explained everything so I understood what was going on with my eye. He even showed me pictures of my eye before and during the healing process. I highly recommend Dr. Carlson for any eye surgery.

Dr. Lord is scheduling as many patients a day as possible. As a result, he does not have time to explain or sympathize with his patients. I was being treated for a retina problem but during my last visit for that problem, my cornea received an abrasion and that issue was more painful than the original retina issue. He didn't believe the abrasion was caused in his office.

Dr. Lord is a nice guy and is very competent but he is always in such a hurry that we have no time to really discuss what is going on with my eye treatment and future needs.

I am a healthy 48-year-old woman who is an atypical candidate for retinal disease. After a visit to an ophthalmologist with concerns about dark spots in my vision I was referred to Dr. Lord. My retina was detached in 2 places. Dr. Lord met with me the following morning at 7 AM to perform my surgery. WOW! It doesn't get any better than that, folks! Not only is Dr. Lord a gifted eye surgeon, he is also the real deal; a genuinely kindhearted and "non patronizing" professional who cares.
