Dr. Ron Pitkanen, MD

I have been battling chronic pain since my first cervical spinal fusion in 2022. I cannot say enough about Dr. Pitkanen and his team. Most importantly, he listened to me and I felt like he truly heard me about my pain. After success with multiple pain blocks, they unfortunately, stopped working. Dr. Pitkanen urged me to get more imaging and see my neurosurgeon. Sure enough, there were two broken screws in my neck that will be replaced next week along with another fusion of C6 C7. I will be forever indebted to Dr. Pitkanen for not only his bedside manner, but amazing skills and knowledge. I would recommend him to anyone.

After several epidurals failed to help, he recommended a spinal cord stimulator. He equipped me for the required trial for the stimulator, which led to surgery for my spinal cord stimulator implant, which has given me so much relief. I am forever thankful for his wisdom and expertise.

Dr. Pitkanen set me at ease about the procedure needed to fix my back pain. He is knowledgeable, personable and compassionate with a well chosen staff. I am so grateful that God directed my steps to Dr. Pitkanen!

I have had pain blocks in the past, but no good results. I was referred to Dr. Pitkanen and he is the "real" deal. He was very thorough in getting all the details of my pain and exactly where it was. I got relief every time he gave me a pain block. I asked him if I was a candidate for surgery and he said he believed I was. He referred me to Dr. Joshua Menendez and I had my L4/L5 fusion and disc removed in November of '22.

My wife had a procedure done by Dr Pitkanen a couple years ago for pain caused by her sciatic nerve, and has been pain free since. When I had the same issue (disabilitating pain going from my lower back down below my left knee I went to him. My procedure was yesterday and I am already pain free. Dr Pitkanen is very personable and his entire staff is as well. I would recommend him to anyone.

I eventually had two sessions of radiofrequency ablation for each side of my back. So far, after two weeks, the pain in my lower back, the pain in both of hips are virtually completely gone. I'm told, this could last up to a year or more. This is life changing for me big time. Dr. Pitkanen is a really good decent christian man. He saw an opportunity for a procedure to get me out of back pain for a much longer time period and it worked. I'm extremely grateful to Comprehensive Pain Clinic. I could recommend anyone higher.

I had lower back, hip and leg pain for years that limited my gardening activities severely. Dr Pitkanen did a procedure that has relieved that pain. I believe that he sincerely wants to help people. His office staff has always been courteous and helpful.

Dr. Pitkanin is a true professional with what he does. However, I was scheduled for an outpatient procedure which I had to cancel because I had been in the hospital seven days after suffering a stroke. His office staff informed me that they were going to have to red flag my account because I had multiple cancellations. I had two cancellations due to having COVID-19 and my third cancellation was because I had a stroke and was still in the hospital. No matter how good the physician is, if he doesn’t have a decent staff, it’s not a place you want to go. I was supposed to be having a nerve stimulator implanted for the third time because the first two failed for various reasons and to this day my nerve stimulator still does not work because I have not been able to find a new surgeon.

Dr Pitkanen has kept me walking!!! He is one of the most compassionate doctors that I have ever encountered. A thorough and Godly physician that will help you.

You will never find another physician that cares as much as this one does. He is so patient and concerned for your well being. I have been his patient for a Few years and will be for as long as I can be.

Dr. Pitkanen is honestly the best doctor I have ever used. Had 2 blocks and then surgery that did not fix all that was wrong. Was told to go back to Dr. Pitkanen and he has been wonderful since then. I've never had a more caring and attentive doctor EVER. His office personnel are wonderful and caring also. I would highly recommend him !!

Office has a great location, easy walk in/out & no parking fee. Wonderful receptionists/very experienced nurses. Theresa and LaDonna, 5 ??, I’ve had them at other doctors’ offices, I was thrilled they’re now working with Dr. Pitkanen. After my consultation &/w other doctors’ reports he gave me a particular medicine rather than a procedure (I’ve had 4 back epidurals). Dr. Pitkanen listens throughly, gives you his upmost professional care, attentive, and courteous. ?? I’d recommend having a consultation or second opinion with Dr. Pitkanen, it would be worth your health experience.

I had 5 blocks for my back surgery pain. None of them helped me for one day. Dr. Pitkanen did one block and before I left the office I could already tell I was 95% better! He’ll be my Dr. from now on but I believe he will have me back to normal very soon! Great bedside manner, nicest person and Doctor I’ve ever been too!
