After having a fever, cough and fatigue for four days, I went to the MGH Newton Urgent Care and saw Dr. Shah. He listened carefully while I described my symptoms and also asked directed questions about my medical history. Based on his questions, he definitely did his homework on me. I have leukemia not every doctor knows this before speaking with me. After diagnosing me with pneumonia he prescribed me medications that work with all my medications. When I left my appointment, I dropped my paperwork and Dr Shah brought it out to the car for me and let me know about my confirmed X-ray results too! Wow! Dr. Shah is compassionate, professional and utterly fantastic. I wish all doctors would be just like him.

Injury from a fall
I fell while running for a ball on a tennis court, landing on my raquet arm right shoulder. I had a good deal of pain when I tried to raise my arm. Doctor Shah ran a number of range of motion tests before ordering X-rays, which he determined showed no fracture, separation or dislocation. He also had the X-rays reviewed by a radiologist to confirm his diagnosis. He then provided me with a series of exercises which I should start off with very slowly until I could increase my range of pain-free motion. He explained that, given my age (80+) that full recovery could take a month, but that I could resume exercise sooner, depending on pain levels. In short, I found Dr. Shah to be attentive, thoughtful and caring and would not hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.

Dr. Shah was a remarkable physician and changed my perception of Urgent Care healthcare. His bedside manner was comfortable, attentive; he clearly loves people and is passionate about his job. He sat and and spoke with me, thoroughly explained any question I had without dumbing it down, and I never once felt like he was in a rush even though the waiting room was absolutely packed. The individual, personalized care that Dr. Shah provides is unparalleled in my experience, and request him if you can!

Dr. Shah and everyone else at Brookline Partners Urgent Care were awesome last night. I came cruising through in a panic with a poison ivy rash that had quickly taken over my body and Dr. Shah diffused the situation by being super real, down to earth, and personable. He made sure he understood the situation, explained some of the finer points of what was happening (not going into heavy-duty esoteric physiology, but also not dumbing it down) when I asked for details, prescribed relief and got me out the door just in time to pick it up from the pharmacy before close. Everyone at the desk was super friendly as well, and the nurse went out of her way to find a pharmacy that was both open and convenient for me.
