Dr. Ronald De La Pena, MD

I can’t even begin to explain in a short review how incredible Dr. De La Pena and his nurse, Kailee, are. Dr. De La Pena exceeded all of my expectations. Kailee is amazing. We were referred to him by our fertility doctor at 10 weeks after a successful iVF cycle and I had a lot of varying issues throughout the pregnancy, which Dr. De La Pena treated immediately. Kailee and Dr De La Pena took the time to listen to every concern I had, called me back the same day, most times within an hour of leaving a message, and treated us with the upmost respect and compassion the whole way through the pregnancy. We were induced at 40 weeks and 1 day. My labor was intense and given that this was our first baby, I had never gone through any of this before. The nursing staff at Los Robles was communicating with Dr De La Pena throughout the next two days at all hours of the day and night and reacted immediately to issues during the delivery. Within 15 mins of making the call to do the C-section, after hours upon hours of trying to deliver a finally, Dr De La Pena was at the hospital scrubbing in for the C-section, holding my hand until my husband got in the room because I was so nervous. My baby was almost 9 lbs and not easy to deliver, even via C-section. But, Dr De La Pena got her out quickly and when he showed me our beautiful little girl, he was smiling as big as we were. October 25, 2023 was the best day of my life. Dr. De La Pena delivered my baby safely and I became a mommy, which has been a dream of mine my entire life. Dr. De La Pena checked on me every single day that I was in the hospital, while we were there, before and after the baby came. He delivered my baby at 8:17pm, on a Wednesday night, within 1/2 hour of getting to the hospital in spite of having to combat a couple issues during delivery. I’m so beyond grateful for this man and I would NEVER EVER trust anyone else but him to see a pregnancy through or deliver a baby. He is THE BEST. Don’t think twice about calling him for your care. You won’t regret it.

Rushed and talked at me for 20 minutes all about ways to stay healthy. Had no interest in getting to know me or my medical history. Also didn't listen or answer my questions leaving me frustrated. I think he saw me as a young, obviously must be healthy person so didn't want to give me the time of day yet I did have health problems that I needed to discuss. Now to look for another doctor that actually cares what I'm saying.

I first began seeing Dr. de la Pena as a teen, and am now an RN with two boys, both delivered by this man. He has been a tremendous advocate on my behalf, going out of his way to get procedures covered by insurance and collaborating with other doctors for my complicated care-including appropriately intervening when a large ovarian tumor was found during pregnancy, and performing another surgery (during his Christmas vacation no less!) to later save the second. You are in LOVING, CAPABLE hands.
