Dr. Rosabella Shek, MD

I had colonoscopies before but after this one. I told the nurses I was experiencing pain and pressure, I never experienced in prior procedures. I was told it was gas and I was sent home and they advised me to call the office if I had any problems. After four hours the pain did not subside and I call the office. Dr. Shek recommended I go to the emergency room to get checked out. They scanned by abdomen and saw where the was a perforation. I had my clothes stripped off of me and they were preparing me for emergency surgery. Luckily the attending doctor wanted to see if antibiotics would help healing and keep me from being sliced up. And, they worked and my colon was healing. The hospital it seemed to me avoided bringing her in on my care. I had a follow up with her and she acted surprised that the hospital didn’t contact her. I had my gallbladder removed by a surgeon even though I was not experiencing any issues with it. Then within the year, she stopped practicing.

Worst experience I ever had within the medical profession. Kept sending me for test and not remembering or having the results. First tells me the second test showed good results, than gives me a completely different diagnosis. Not compassionate at all.

Dr. Shek is amazing. The 2 bad reviewers are ridiculous. Very patient through caring. She has done my colonoscopy endoscopy with no complications at all. Recommend to everyone!

I am a 56 year old male with chronic disease who choose doctor Shek and referred to by my family doctor .first visit with doctor shek, she patiently listened to me, she looked at all my labs and medical history and ordered more labs. after she got the results, professionally and very efficiently started me with medication and way to recovery. Her positive attitude and her knowledge is so inspiring that made me feel better right away. hoping and praying for a full recovery.thank you Dr.Shek.

Went to see dr, Shek for Hep C. After being told I was in Liver Failure. She ordered a myriad of invasive and some painful tests. 6Mo. after first seeing her and still in liver failure I still had NO treatment. Instead she wanted to do a gastroscopy & colonoscopy, which are due but WHAT ABOUT MY LIVER FAILURE? So that being the last straw i left. I agree with the other reviewer, she is arrogant and when questioned she becomes condescending. I have been in the medical field for 35yrs stay away!

Went in for routine colonoscopy ten years after my first one. Ended up in the ER and ICU due to some mistake made by Dr. Shek which resulted in huge blood loss. I was in pretty bad shape. I would not recommend her to anyone. She also is unremorseful, arrogant and I have heard many, many horror stories since my event from people in the community. Steer clear of her.
