Not Equipped for Chronic Illness
When I made my appointment, this is their note under 'Reason for Appointment':'Discuss Medical History. Complicated and extensive Med history. Would like to see if provider is a good fit.'Scheduled @ 8:50am. Still an hour late. After going through medical history, specialists, diagnoses, prescriptions, procedures, specialist recommendations, the appointment concluded:'I have no recommendations. I do not feel equipped to handle complicated cases involving pain.'Asked for doctors he can recommend, specialists to see, or any medical suggestion of ANY sort, we received a (literal) silent shrug. If you have little medical history and require a PCP purely for referrals or performing your simple yearly physical, he seems fine. If you have real medical needs, he says himself that he is not equipped.Biggest frustration is this could have been avoided if he had reviewed the note from scheduling and hadn't made us come in and go through 15 years of medical history.

Do not recommend this doctor whatsoever.
I'm sure Dr. Schmaeman is a competent doctor but I did not feel heard at all in all the 3-4 appointments over a year's time. He treated me like another number and I wasted so much getting very little care for a routine issue. I was referred out to practices that he preferred rather than ones that were most beneficial for my issue. It was once that I reached out to another provider that I got the proper care that I needed. I would not recommend him to my family or friends.

He is very friendly, and explores options with his Patients, he works to fix your health issues instead of exploring what previous doctors have done.
