Had my new patient exam today with Dr. Roy King and was quite pleased and impressed with him in every aspect. He's kind, thorough, knowledgeable yet not arrogant, honest and more. He made me feel hopeful and removed some of my fears regarding my situation as I was quite afraid of the unknown. As an ex health care professional we are known to be the worst patients, lol. The office staff is very nice as well and welcoming. I found the office easily and is located well near Mission Hospital and has plenty of convenient free parking with close access to the office. I am so thrilled to have him as my Neurologist and feel confident he can help me. He thinks sharply and concisely. He's well qualified. I highly recommend Dr King and Mission Neurology. Beth Locascio

Dr. King is very quiet spoken and seems interested in my problems. I think he is a good doctor. His Medical Assistant is very helpful and nice. The operator and the rest of the office employees that I've met are abrupt, condescending and rude. They should find another field to work in that doesn't require customer service or empathy . Mission should fire several of them today.

My doctor abandoned her practice at Mission Neurology. The only doctor left in the practice was Dr. King. He refused to refer me to a new neurologist, saying that I had to go back to my primary carenphysician (and notwithstanding the fact that I had been a patient at Mission Neurology for over four years and they had all my records). What a bunch of lackluster doctors who don’t care about their patients.

Very disappointed. Didn't address any issues that we were there to address, was very dismissive, and we were rushed out the room. When I told him we felt as if nothing was really addressed and that I felt like we were being rushed oit, he simply said he was a busy man. No problem, we will find a doctor that knows his job a bit better and cares about a patient in pain.

Since this review is for Dr. King, and not his staff, I can easily give 5 stars. I did feel unwelcomed by the receptionist at first, but soon felt very welcomed. I think she just works hard, to the point, in a quiet way. Dr. King was very helpful, to the point, and my visit was quite pleasant. I have epilepsy and an AVM, so I already know, after visiting many other neurologists, that the brain is a complicated thing. He can't know everything, but did what he could to help. Great visit.

I didn't get past the RUDE receptionist at the front desk in North Charleston. Walked out after being made fun of because my hand shakes and couldn't complete the paperwork.

Rude, dismissive, and didn't address the problems I was having. Seemed to have someplace else he wanted to be. I will never go back to see him. Awful.

He made me feel VERY SMALL, and has not addressed my medical complaints. His reception staff is extremely RUDE and UNHELPFUL. Good luck if you must see this doctor!

Dr. King was very thorough in his research of what could be causing my symptoms. He ran a multitude of tests without ruling anything out by mere observation and was key in determining my diagnosis very early on. He never made me feel rushed and I truly appreciate his listening skills and the level of dedication that he shows his patients.

About Me

biography

I am a board-certified physician in neurology, and besides my interest in general neurology I'm also interested in sleep disorders and their treatment. I feel educating the patient as much as possible about their condition and work-up/treatment options helps give them the best chance for recovery and improvement.
