Dr. Rupa Desai, DO

I've been seeing Dr. Desai for the past few years and she has been always been great. She cares about her patients and is very thorough in her care.

My entire family has seen Dr Desai. We began with her in 2004. She has seen us through lots of health issues. She is personable and straight forward. She knows that I know by body the best, but when she tells me different she is correct. I recommend her.

I started out really liking Dr. Desai. But when Covid hit, she basically became a sales rep for the vaccine. She was dismissive of my concerns about the 5 people I knew who had gotten Bell’s Palsy from the vaccine. She told me to ‘get over my anxiety’ and feelings of being forced to get the vaccine by my work. When I brought up concerns about my heart, she suggested I purchase an Apple Watch, which I did. She asked me to screen shot any unusual activity, which I did. She asked me to make an appointment to discuss it. At that appointment she didn’t like the fact that I had been seen by another doctor regarding cardiac concerns. She belittled me for the screenshots I sent. Her staff is rude and incompetent as well. They don’t run the office in an organized way, nor did they care that I could hear everything that was being said in the appointment next door since the walls weren’t closed. She did t care and said it wasn’t a big deal. I have since changed doctors and am so relieved to have found someone else.

You go to the doctor. They run some tests and everything seems okay, but they just post the results to the online portal and you're left to interpret or react to the results on your own. Requests for follow up were ignored and I'm left with no explanation with what it means. I'm learning about my condition through google not my doctor. I can't imagine what seeing this doctor would be like if you were old and didn't use their portal. You could get tests and never know what your condition is.

I've been a patient of Dr. Desai's since 2004. She's warm, takes her time with you (as best she can), and listens!

Dr. Desai is knowledgeable and quick to know what the issue is. She is personable and straight forward. I love her responsiveness and have had only positive interactions when seeing her. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Desai did not treat me in regards to any of my symptoms. She instead turned the whole visit around and accused me of having a panic attack and anxiety. She told me it was because of my job and that I need to talk to a therapist. She specifically pointed to her head and told me it was up here. She is very familiar with the company I work for and blatantly told me that we are know for over billing and she doesnt refer any of her patients to us. I left traumatized and flabbergasted.

Horrible bedside manner. Visit was five minutes long. She walked in with a diagnosis before examining me. Later after seeing my primary care physician I was treated with weeks worth of prescription to get rid of the infection I had. If I was properly treated Dr. Desai would have never missed this.

I have known Dr. Desai for over 15 years and she has always been professional to me. She is very good at what she does and always tries to make things better even when they are not favorable. She is patient, understanding and well knowledgeable in her field. I have recommended Dr. Desai to several relatives and friends. ???????She always returns my phone calls. SHe is the only Dr. that I would travel over an hour to see. She makes at ease and I feel that I can communicate with her about anything

Dr. Desai has been my primary care physician for over 10 years. I have always appreciated her professionalism and the personal attention she gives me as a patient. As a registered nurse myself, I am also very satisfied with the other aspects of the medical office and the support staff is terrific. I highly recommend Dr. Desai as a physician.

I had a horrible experience with this doctor. When I came in for contraceptive counseling, Dr. Desai instead focused the conversation on weight loss and her assumption that I was depressed. She suggested that I was depressed because of my inter-racial marriage (I married a Caucasian male) and that I should move back home with my parents. The experience was a pretty traumatic one because she over-stepped her boundaries as a doctor and chided my personal choices--unprofessional and memorable.

Very nice Doctor, very calming and knowledgable and I am sad that she has moved out of the BG office!
