So glad I had Dr. Coughlan as my doctor.
I got a great vibe from this doctor the moment we met. I could tell her anything and she was kind and attentive. My physical rehab stay was 14 days. I arrived unable to get out of bed and was walking 10 days later with no assistance! She runs a great team and is well respected by the staff at Encompass. Highly recommend.

One of the B-E-S-T!!
Dr. Coughlan was amazing the entire time of my stay. She listened and made sure that every need of mine was being met. If we had a hiccup (really there was only one incident with a night time nurse) with anything, she fixed it immediately. She let me cry and then she found (didn’t just say/give) solutions to help me with. She even gave us some advice (on which drs she should see and what she could do in the meantime) to help us with our daughter who was having some medical issues. When I say you are in the best hands here, you truly are in the best hands here. The entire staff is great. It honestly made the stay not feel as long or as horrible as I had imagined it would be. If she had a private practice, I would literally drive the 45 mins - 1 hour drive just to see her. She is passionate about the needs of her patients and will do and fix any issue that she can. If she can’t fix the issue/problem, she finds another great dr that can. She is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!

Dr released without seeing me
Within 31 hours of Dr Ryan Coughlin signing my dismissal from Round Rock rehab facility. I was admitted to Seton Ascension Hospital near death with Sepsis. Thanks to the outspoken vigilance of my MPOA (& baby sister) my life was spared. Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital is NOT A REPUTABLE FACILITY. My case manager refused to address the concerns my MPOA raised. Dr Coughlin signed the papers at 3:08pm, but less than 22 minutes later my temp was 101.3" and severe diarrhea. I'd had for weeks.

I'm a 60 yr. old woman who still works full time in a job where I'm on my feet 10 hrs. a day, I have several areas of pain due to osteo-arthritis and degenerative disc disease.I have had a back fusion and waiting for a total knee replacement,after going to a few pain management Drs. I was referred to Dr. Coughlin. She entered the room so ready to listen and hear my story at the same time typing and asking questions. She is the best!! Highly recommend her.

Dr. Coughlan is a St. Louis native with a masters in Public Health from Tulane University. She trained at the University of Texas San Antonio in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and is excited to practice in the Austin, TX area.
