Up-front and Caring repair of Rotator Cuff
Dr. Nelson informed me immediately that the healing process was going to be difficult and I'll probably 'Hate Him' for a few days after. I actually hated physical therapy more.Dr. Nelson expressed how please he was with my progress every visit. Personally I never felt so weak and vulnerable. I have a great fear of EVER having that surgery again. I don't want anyone to touch my shoulder. I'm 4mo. post surgery now, back to work and careful to avoid falling. I appreciate you Dr for everything you did. I will try my best to be patient for my strength and ROM to return. I know if I have any problems you're just a phone call away. Bless you!

Reverse shoulder replacement
Dr Nelson took the time to explain the procedure to my wife and I and because of my age which is 72 that this would be the best procedure for me. I had rotator cuff surgery in April of 2023 and had a retear. Dr Nelson explained to us that he did 108 of these procedures last year so I felt very confident with him doing the surgery also I feel he has great bedside manners.

Second Total Hip Replacement
Both total hip replacements were performed by Dr. Nelson. He was exceptional on both. I did experience numbness on the first operation. Dr. Nelson learned why that was happening and made a different incision location and that produced no numbness after second procedure. I recommend Dr. Nelson for anyone seeking a total hip replacement.

Hip Surgery
My daughter hurt her hip during her sophomore year. Dr. Nelson was extremely thorough, really listened to our concerns, explained all options, and tried conservative treatments, before jumping to surgery, due to her still growing and playing sports. She finally had hip surgery last fall and the time and attention he gave her was amazing. She felt as if he truly cared about her, her pain, and her recovery. She is very thankful for his approach. We recommend him to anyone who asks.

Great Doctor, Not Respectful of Time
The doctor is great, but waiting for over an hour when you scheduled an appointment months one advance is very frustrating. Patients’ time is just as valuable as the doctors.

Dr. Nelson is amazing. Our son broke his collarbone. The break was a bit complicated and there were several pieces that were pushing against his skin. Dr. Nelson was able to see us that day without an appointment and made room for his surgery at the end of his regular work day on the same day! He was able to put the pieces of bone back together so perfectly with no gaps or even the slightest hint of misalignment. Furthermore, he has a great personality, is patient and explains things well. His staff at the clinic was also wonderful. I sure hope nobody in the family breaks any more bones but if they do, we know where to go to get them fixed!

Dr. Nelson was kind, compassionate and skilled. I had an unexplainable pocket of water and cartilage in my elbow. He skillfully diagnosed the problem and removed it surgically. The procedure went exactly as he told me it would and the results were better than expected.

I have been a patient of Dr. Nelson for about two years for both of my shoulder; a reverse replacement on one and rotator cuff repair on the other. His surgical skills and follow up care have gotten me back to a point where I haven't been in years. He is skillful, compassionate, and always available. I recommend him for your orthopedic needs.

When I went into Dr. Nelson's office, they took an x-ray. Dr. Nelson walked into the room and said "yes, it is broken come back in 1 month" he spent exactly 5 seconds with me. When I got the bill for 150.00 above and beyond the $447.29 my insurance paid, I had to call to see if it was a mistake... Terri in billing said, "when there is a fracture, we bill it as a SURGERY because it usually consists of putting a cast on and giving a shot." I explained that I was treated in the emergency room and there was no cast, no shot, only an x-ray AND that I removed and re applied the brace the emergency room gave me, myself. Terri hung up on me! Two months later and after Insurance company investigated, I had to pay the bill because of how it was billed to them. Next time there will be no follow-ups to this greedy money grabbing establishment Shame on u Dr. Ryan Nelson, it is a disappointment to see such antics by these young doctors and their staff..
