He spends maybe 5 minutes with me. I don’t exactly feel rushed but also don’t understand why he runs so late when he doesn’t seem to have long visits with patients. He also took several weeks to get back to me about my plan - if radiation was recommended or not. I had to call at least 3 times over several weeks to get an answer.

It required 38 Radiation Treatments over a 9 week period

Dr. Tierney provided excellent care. He explained the process and all the options. He answered all my questions. Along with Dr. Tierney, the staff, from reception, billing, scheduling, nurses, and radiation technicians of Texas Oncology helped ease me through the treatment and aftercare. I do not believe I could have gotten better care anywhere.

Backed by an exceptional staff, Dr. Tierney is always available to work through any issues related to the treatment process. He is also willing and able to explain the (sometimes complex) science behind the various treatment options. I found it very reassuring that Dr. Tierney remained steadfastly positive during my treatment. I always felt that he was there for me and doing what was necessary for a positive outcome.

He deals with difficult situations but does not shrink from them.

Dr. Tierney guided the Texas Oncology staff in providing me 35 radiation sessions to control my high-risk prostate cancer. This was AFTER a long course of treatments with chemotherapy and androgen deprivation treatment, and a radical prostatectomy. When my cancer returned after all those treatments, Dr. Tierney's radiation appears to have finally put an end to my cancer - at least it seems that way, since it has been 15 months since I had any discernable PSA. Dr. Tierney is a very knowledgeable, confident but caring physician and I heartily recommend him and his team for cancer radiation treatment.

Have seen Tierney several times. Hi has always provided careful thoughtful treatment. Recommend him without hesitation.
