Arrived with referral, left humiliated and in pain
Was referred to Dr. Gwinn for a pain pump procedure by my Dr. Showed up to what we thought was a pre-op appointment only to be told “oh we don’t provide pump implant for your condition.” This despite rhe assuranxe and referral by our pain Dr. So what we thought was a pre-op appointment to have vitals checked and schedule surgery turned out to be a humiliating and incredibly disappointing. This was to be a possible method to help control chronic pain that I’ve dealt with since 2012. Not professional about it whatsoever

Dr. Ryder Gwinn
Last October, my wife had bilateral GPI Deep Brain Stimulation Surgery done by Dr. Ryder Gwinn. Five days later, he installed the battery pack. The results have been nothing short of miraculous. My wife had tremors in both hands which had progressed to the point where normal activites were becoming difficult. The pain in her forearms was like lava flowing through her veins and her walking gait was reduced. After surgery, her tremors are reduced by 75%, pain in forearms reduced by 90% and walking gait improved by 50%. My wife's daily life is substantially improved. Dr. Ryder Gwinn is an amazingly talented surgeon with a warm bedside manner who is genuine in his concern for helping people.

Dr. Gwinn gave up a Saturday to perform emergency surgery on me, He removed a drug infusion pump that got infected, Others could have performed the surgery But he was the one to install the pump, So he wanted to remove it.. Awesome doctor!!! I wouldn’t have another doctor touch my brain or spine for that matter.

Dr. Gwinn is one of the nicest doctors I have ever met. One normally assumes that neurosurgeons are arrogant and act like they know more than every one else in the room. Dr. Gwinn is very down-to-earth and treats every one, patients or co-workers with the same respect. He is one in a million, even though he probably does know more than every one else in the room.

He has done all my Vagal Nerve Stimulator surgeries. This last time it was running out of power and it needed to be replaced immediately. Dr. Gwinn, although very booked, gave me an appt right away. Explained exactly what was going to be done and why and informed me of the difference between my last one and this new one. I will always rely on Dr. Gwinn for surgery.
