I recently experienced back pain accompanied by muscle spasms. I contacted Optim Orthopedic and secured an appointment with Dr. S. Mark Kamaleson, MD. I was impressed by the attention he provided and his genuine interest in facilitating my recovery. He prescribed a rehabilitation program, and I noticed significant improvement by the second day. Hopefully, I will achieve full recovery soon. It has been a long time since I encountered a doctor who takes the time to thoroughly explain one's condition and inquire about any questions. Dr. S. This was a serious professional. Friendly and caring. I didn't understand what was wrong with my hand. He showed me my x rays and explained treatment options in detail. His assistant was able to schedule me for surgery before I left the office. He has my full confidence.

Dr. Kamaleson listen to what I had to say before he responded. He was upfront and did sugar coat any of his medical advice. He challenged me to do what I got to do to strengthen my knees and overall health.

From the instant when we first met, his demeanor was very good in a fatherly sort of way. Kind of like a country doctor who knows and is liked by everyone in town. He listened attentively to what I had to say about my condition, and then we both came up with a course of action. The aura surrounding him says, 'wisdom'.

Doctor Kamaleson reviewed my MRI and said there was nothing conclusive and the only thing for me to do is get my sugars under control so I could get an injection, and than walked out. So insensitive, no exam and I left still in much pain. When he first walked he asked me how was the injection . I said what injection I’m here follow up for MRI, he didn’t even know why I was seeing him. What a joke. I will be going to the medical board about how I was treated or should not treated.

Dr. Kamaleson was locked in on our conversation about treatment for Carpal Tunnel syndrome and focused on me and my situation. He was personable, thorough in his explanation and gave me confidence that he is a caring, experienced hand surgeon with whom I could entrust my care.

Great physician, he is both professional and personable. He conducted a thorough examination, then gave an explanation of potential treatment. First trying a non-invasive treatment, if this does not work, will go with minor surgery. He is very personable and relaxes you easily. Also note his nurse, assistant is also excellent.

Admittedly, the wait was very long, but they also squeezed me in because I was leaving for vacation and really wanted to be seen. It’s also probably because the team takes time with the patient. They all seem to actually enjoy their jobs and care about their patients. I am 100% confident in the treatment I received.
