Dr. Sagar Patel, MD

I had a suicide attempt, by drug overdose, back in 2019. I was sent to St. Dominic Behavioral Health Services, under Dr. Patel 's care. I can honestly say that he could have cared less about my condition. He was very cold and snooty. On my last day, before being discharged, I reached out to shake his hand. He snobishly reared back as if I was the scum of the Earth and said that he didn't shake hands. I would NOT recommend him for psychiatric care.

Unprofessional. When he walked through the door, he hesitated as he stared at me for a sec as if there was a problem. He sits, crosses his leg, and begins to jot on a notepad quicker than I’m speaking, while rapidly bouncing his foot. He appeared to be anxious or uncomfortable. As soon as I stopped talking, he raises his voice as he basically accuses me of doctor shopping. I reminded him that I noted that I didn’t want meds. “Oh,” he responds. He insisted that just stopping the meds wasn’t a big deal. We move on to an incident that happened while I was driving, which could’ve been tragic. He grins and says that it was just my anxiety. Atp, I’m heated and crying, not bc of my issues, but bc of his dismissiveness and disrespect. And as the other reviews state he “rushes” the rest of the convo. I told him that I switched drs because the previous dr. kept canceling and that’s what he did to my next appt. But I was already looking for another dr. It’s been 4 years, and it still plagues me.

I am a pro se litigant. Dr. patel was the attending physician at St. Dominic who held me hostage for 6 days in 2017. I was administered their drugs that made my condition worse. Staff also assaulted me and withheld my blood pressure meds. I have a case against Dr. Patel and St. Dominic in federal court. I do believe St. Dominic closed their mental health division 2 months after I testified before Judge Henry Wingate of the Federal Court of Jackson.

Caution Caution Caution

This doctor does not care bout his patients. He lied to me about my family and only cares about money. He is not passionate about patients with mental disorders. He is judgmental and belittling. He will humiliate you. Please save yourself and go elsewhere.

I am well pleased with Dr. Patel. He listens to what you have to say and is a very compassionate person. He explains things simply. He has a calming voice and disposition as well. He cares. The best!

Dr. Patel is treating my son in a facility, and I have yet to hear from the doctor. I do not know what is happening with my son. I find this unacceptable. The doctor is not family oriented

I love DR. Patel. I would definitely recommend him. He is very caring you dont find doctors like him anymore. He cares about everything you are going through. My child also see's him too. He is 11. We changed over to him because the doctor who he was seeing was given him way to much medication. He is awesome and very nice man.

Rude!!

This doctor took the time from the beginning to not just hear what I was saying, he listened to what I was saying! I bared myself as much as I could with my mental illness and he knew exactly what I needed and gave me the medication he felt would help, the counselor he felt I would likely talk to, the procedures he felt I needed to have done, and a short stay in a facility so he could observe my behavior. Not once in all the years I have known him has Dr. Patel let me down.
