Bad communicator and dishonest
To his credit I believe Dr. Manek has a decent scientific background. However he was treating me for one condition for years before I found out that in his notes he was suggesting I had a completely different condition all along. Imagine my shock! His notes even said numerous times that he’d informed me and I’d said I understood. He had not. To add insult to injury I had asked about trying treatment for this condition years earlier to see if it might help and he had declined. When I needed disability paperwork completed, I was told other doctors at the practice do paperwork but he doesn’t and he asks the patient’s GP to do so. He's busy so I argued my insurance for him. Later he said he does do paperwork, he just didn’t want to do mine because I have a rare condition and it would be difficult. I’m very glad they lied rather than filling it out badly, so I think he has some empathy, but I was too naive and never imagined such complete dishonesty from medical professionals.

Most thorough examination I have ever experienced!
First, Dr. Manek recorded the entire hours' worth of copious clinical notes without a scribe, word processor or voice-to-text assistance--entirely hand-written. Though counter to the standard practice of electronic health records, this made the visit all the more meaningful to me. I am confident that the data appearing in my EHR will therefore be accurate, recounting every detail of this visit. His course (next steps) of my treatment are clearly authoritative and evidence-based. This inspires confidence even further. Most important, Dr. Manek is an attentive listener, filtering and catching every meaningful hint possible from this patient's remarks.

I recently saw Dr, Manek for my Parkinson's (after 2 months of weekly calls to another neurology clinic only to finally find out they didn't accept my insurance - Molina). Dr. Manek is busy like all doctors, but I felt he was genuinely concerned about my well-being, and he's knowledgeable about PD. Irina, his assistant, was also courteous, professional and helpful (have seen Dr. twice now)

Amazingly sensitive and caring. Will call on weekends if necessary to relay information or check on patient. Spends quality time with the patient, answering questions and checking to see if patient understands the information given. He doesn't over prescribe medications! Excellent in making referrals if necessary. Cannot imagine working with anyone more sincere and caring for his patients.

When we noticed Mom's dementia symptoms becoming worse, we were referred to Dr. Manek. He ordered the tests that confirmed Alzheimer's. For the next few years, he saw Mom regularly and was always very kind and professional. He answered our questions, explained our options and was never short with us. He took his time with each appointment and we never felt unimportant or like Mom was just a #. He returned every phone call and worked Mom into his schedule between regular appointments.

Dr. Manek is very thorough and listens to the patient and spouse. His exams are consistent and measure physical and mental symptoms each time to determine progression and medicine adjustments.
