Dr. Kwan took outstanding care of my husband. She performed open heart surgery on him to replace mistral valve and perform a maze procedure, which is a treatment for an irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation (AFib). She used a scalpel to create a pattern of scar tissue in the upper chambers of the heart. The heart's electrical signals can't pass through the scar tissue. So the maze can block faulty heart signals that cause AFib. Additionally she installed a pacemaker. She took time to explain everything. She and the staff at Advent Heart hospital are the best.

Dr Kwon was amazing with my recent heart attack. Her attention to detail and concern for my recovery went above and beyond.

I was refereed to Dr. Kwon in May 2024 with a very loud heart murmur, she reviewed my test results with me and was very, open, honest and direct with my treatment plan. I had been stressing over my heart issue for several months, but after meeting her, I immediately felt relief and knew she would take care of me as one of her own family members. The evening before my open heart surgery, she came to visit us to make sure we didn't have any unanswered questions, and took the time pray with us. Dr. Kwon followed up with us daily to check my progress and provide my family with updates. After I was discharged, the extent of care didn't diminish, I received follow up phone calls to check on my progress and her office staff remained attentive to my needs up until my final check up appointment. Dr. Kwon is an amazing surgeon who truly cares for her patients from day 1, and I thank God for blessing me to have met such an extraordinary woman and Dr.

I had been having heart problems for six months but no one discovered this, in spite of two visits to the ER. Once I visited a cardiologist, I was sent to a hospital for a heart cath and then scheduled for surgery with Dr. Kwon. She discovered that my heart was in very bad condition and had to operate for a number of hours. She monitored me closing in Cardiac ICU and carefully changed medicines as needed to get the AFib under control. When I was released to the cardiac floor, she made sure that she saw me regularly to see that I was progressing until I could go home. I am eternally grateful for her expertise and her encouraging words to help me to move forward.

I highly recommend her. Probably the best surgeon in her field. Hardly any scar on my bypass surgery due to her plastic surgery background. She takes time to explain and answer all my questions, even ones I hadn't thought of.

I'm very grateful for Dr. Kwon's expertise, compassion, faith and for her truly caring for her patients' needs. She gave me a full explanation of what to expect, was very detailed oriented in collecting as much information she could through tests and labs, thereby performing, with precision, 7 coronary artery bypass grafts. My chest scar will be barely visible once totally healed. Thank you to Dr. Kwon and her staff for excellence in their medical profession.

I had 5 bypass heart surgery, 3 leg sugeries for seromas and right carotid artery surgery for blockage. When hospitalized I would see Dr. Kwon about 11pm at night and about 6am in the morning. Dr. Kwon performed my emergency open heart surgery on October 21, 2023. She saved my life as I learned that I was critical and my heart was severely damaged. I first met Dr Kwon immediately following my catherization. Cardiac interventionist arranged for an impromptu visit with 'whoever' was on call that day. Dr. Kwon appeared and answered my questions for over 45 minutes. She explained her background and extensive cardiac experiences. I had been contemplating going to the Cleveland Clinic for another opinion but cancelled it hours later after the impromptu meeting with Dr. Kwon. After being prepped for surgery, Dr. Kwon gathered the surgical suite team around me and she led the group in prayer; what a wonderful feeling to know that I was being cared for in the best possible manner!
