Dr. Sami Dahr, MD

I’ve had many eye exams over many years, and this was the most thorough retina exam that I have ever experienced, including those before and after a retinal tear and complicated repair some years ago. His competence is impressive, and he has a pleasant and friendly demeanor. I feel endlessly assured and relieved to be in his care.

I stopped seeing him because he refused to prescribe me some medicine he said I needed, because it could be harmful for a possible baby if I got pregnant, even if I assured him I didn't want to have children. He asked if I had relations and what was my contraception method and decided his conscience would not allow him to prescribe me said medicine because of the slim possibility that I would get pregnant and it could be harmful for a baby that never existed. This was before Roe v. Wade was overturned- I can't imagine what happens now. Yes, it was a medicine for my eyes. This was the worst of it, but I wasn't happy with the way he treated me until then either. He would insist that I had to look up things online instead of explaining what I had to me, even if it was a rare condition and I asked him multiple times. He would just tell me: you're not going to go blind, look it up on my webpage. The receptionist was also rude.

Doctor is an outstanding, professional. I highly recommend him to everyone!

I am alive today because of the skill and knowledge of Dr. Dahr. He has helped coordinate a team to treat my rare cancer. He simply is the best doctor that I have met. He cares deeply about his patients and just a shining example of what Doctors strive to be.

I watched the receptionist be so rude to a patient in waiting room that was so sweet. The receptionist is always rude when I check out and never never smiles. The way she talks to patients is unbelievable. I used to work for a doctor and he would have never stood for that. Dr. Dahr is great but I dont know if he knows how mean to patients the receptionist is!!! She should not be checking patients out!!!! Not nice!!! I noticed other bad reviews about her too on website.

I was referred to Dr. Dahr several years ago for macular edema that has caused one eye to be almost blind. Dr. Dahr is the most qualified physician in our area for this problem. He has advanced training from the National Institutes of Health in Washington. He has injected my eye many times, and each injection improves my vision for 3 months. I concur. I would give 0 stars for rudeness if that were an option. His staff bullies and yells at you. This year the staff did not like how I was holding my head and GRABBED a hold of my head while she was yelling at me and physically pushed my head down. I was horrified in painand shaking all over so bad I could not complete the exam. Even after I repeatedly stated do not touch me she came at me again. I complained last year and this year the treatment from his staff was even worse.

I have gone to Dr Dahr for a while now, I find him to be one of the best!! I mean that, I have been to many, he is the first doctor to determine what my problem has been all these years! I went to Dr. Dahr a few years back and swear I would never return. I was there to get shots in my eye for Macular Degenerative. I didn't like the way he "jabbed" me in the eye with the needle without warning. His staff acted rude or like they were in another world.

Very professional and talks and explains options. Very friendly and shows care for any questions you might ask.
