Dr. Sammie Moss, MD

Manipulative and dishonest in his documentation of appts. Also prescribed me medications that interacted with each other. The pharmacy did not catch it either and I ended up in the hospital from a negative reaction.

I have seen Dr. Moss through Kaiser. Kaiser is notoriously hard for being a route through which you can get diagnosed for ADHD. Knowing this, I was incredibly nervous going into my first appointment with Dr. Moss. Based on my other experience with Kaiser providers, I was ready to be invalidated and made to feel like just a paycheck. Dr. Moss, instead, defied all my expectations and showed up as all health providers should — attentive, compassionate, and genuinely helpful. Dr. Moss was able to diagnose me with ADHD, something that gone undiagnosed for decades of my life. I left this first appointment feeling encouraged that I could finally function in this world without feeling like everything was always impossible, all thanks to the work of Dr. Moss. Since then, as I’ve needed adjustments to my medication, I’ve reached out to Dr. Moss through my online portal and he always responds quickly — sometimes even within 24 hours. I highly, highly recommend this provider.

I've seen a few therapists and psychologists in the past and not many really made me feel like they heard and understood what I was going through. I felt more like a lab rat than a person. I was very anxious prior to my meeting with Dr. Moss and was very close to cancelling my appointment. I am so glad I didn't. I feel like I have a partner in sorting through everything that goes on in my head and he made me feel like he genuinely cared about working through these things. This is my first appointment, but I feel much more optimistic than I have in a long time.

I question any negative review about Dr. Moss. I wonder if it's a different psychiatrist with the same last name. This Dr. Moss is the kindest, most holistically compassionate psychiatrist I have ever known. He worked hard to titrate my medication, fill out forms for my work, and work with my other doctors. I was bullied/discriminated against at work, and Dr. Moss diligently worked with tremendous care to try to get me into a safe space at work. Unfortunately, his many efforts were fruitless, and my mental health took a beating. Then I lost my best friend to suicide. I would have joined my best friend if it weren't for Dr. Moss. He saved my life and empowered me with dignity and grace. Finding a good psychiatrist is difficult as the only child of a psychiatrist. But I cannot sing Dr. Moss' praises enough. He's absolutely brilliant, and his bedside manner is unquestionably first-class.

Before you see this provider be aware that he will retaliate if given any feedback from issue over his time management to questions regarding medication. His opinion is the only one that counts. Do yourself a favor and choose a different provider that at least exhibits maturity and professionalism.

I have seen several psychiatrists and I thankful to have found Dr.Moss. Dr. Moss has taken the time to get to know me as a patient and not put me in a box of diagnosis. He shows compassion and truly cares about his patients.

Dr. Moss is very knowledgeable and professional. I think people confuse the MD with the PsyD or PhD. Sammie is here to what medical assistance you need. If you need talk therapy (I do) a psychiatrist is probably not what you are looking for. I am a successful person with ADHD, and I was never labeled through my life because I was "too smart", "just lazy", "excelled at focusing on difficult problems". My hyperfocus happens to be coding and troubleshooting, so of course I'm successful. That does not mean the rest of my life is not a disaster. Marriage trouble, self-loathing, masking, making a mess with simple tasks, forgetting everything. Sammie picked up on it right away and has been a supporter ever since.

My visits with Dr Moss always felt like he wanted to be over as quickly as possible. Twice, he prescribed me medications that I had told him in the past made me sick, and one of those times I had to leave work early because I felt so unwell that I couldn't manage my responsibilities. When he responded to my messages, it felt like he didn't even read what I had written and gave advice that wasn't relevant to my situation. I ended up requesting to work with a different provider.

He is very patient and a great listener

Dr. Moss has been by far the highlight of my Kaiser experience. All of the other doctors seem to "turn and burn" patients without getting to the underlying core. Dr. Moss was easy to get along with, super friendly, and had a genuine interest in helping both my mental and physical health. I highly recommend him to anyone considering his services.

I asked if I could call him to update him on how I was doing on a new drug. He did set up a date and time, but then ignored my messages about who was calling whom and on what number. Then blew me off when the time came -- actually scheduling another patient at the same time. He didn't even apologize until I asked him to.
