Dr. Samuel Altstein, DO

I gave been Dr. Altstein's patient for about four years and see him regularly. He typically writes several refills for my medication, which I must take daily. In March, he wrote the prescription with no refills. When I was out if the prescription, the pharmacy contacted Dr. Altstein for confirmation, but he denied knowing me. I then left several messages in a prescription refill line, but he did not return my call nor fill the prescription. I called again and spoke to a receptionist, who said she would have him contact me about the urgent matter. He did not. When I called again a few days later, the same receptionist hung up on me when I identified myself and did so each time I called me. Since thus doctor and his office support team do not care about the health of his patients.

I felt he was smart but he was dismissive. When I expressed anger at his fellow doctors incorrect prescription +for which I had suffered 9 1/2 days), he shut down the conversation.

I was 12 minutes late for an appointment and Dr. Altstein: 1) refused to see me, 2) refused to talk to me face-to-face when I told his physician's assistant that I had some urgent medical needs that required tests to be ordered, 3) refused to schedule a "follow up-length" appointment with me and said he would only see me for a full physical a full month from now, and 4) was very curt after I sent him a lengthy email outlining what my medical issue is and why I needed to speak with him (after he

Dr. Altstein is one of the most thoughtful and competent professionals I've ever dealt with. He has always gone above and beyond for me. I can't recommend him highly enough! His nurses have always been great too! My only critique would be about some of the office staff. They're clearly not trained to be customer service oriented. I think better office management is in order. Even still, I'm willing to overlook their shortcomings to see Dr. Altstein.
