I was referred to Boles by my family eye Doctor for cataract surgery in both eyes. Needless to say I was a bit nervous as anyone would be.All went well with my right eye surgery. I met with Boles one week after this surgery which is standard procedure. During this visit he was pointing something out to me on a sheet of paper. While I was looking at the paper he turned away from me and all of a sudden I hear him say “look at me when I’m talking to you” like I was a child. He said this in a very condescending tone!! Needless to say this is was an egregious action by Boles. I had the second eye surgery two weeks later. My left eye surgery was a disaster with complications of glare and blurriness. Needless to say I went back to him and he then referred me to a Retina Surgeon. My retina was fine. At this point, 6 months later, it looks like I need to have the lens removed and another put in. Boles is rude, narcissistic with no beside manner. Worst I ever met.

Dr Boles and his Employees are Great
Dr Boles is a really good doctor and took care of an eye problem that was really scaring me. A lot of his employees have been there a long time and its cool to see familiar faces and to be greeted like a friend. I feel safe and cared for here and send all my friends and family to him.

Competent but Unkind
I am a patient but my my son recently needed care from this practice. Had an urgent condition requiring further consult by a neuro-opthamologist. Staff at front desk treated our urgent request for records with a surly tone and air of disdain for our anxieties. Made repeated calls for help ---- each met with yet another new hurdle about another condition before records could be "released." A signed waiver. Done. Now need doctor signature but he's "with patients" and "I don't know when he can do this". Etc. Etc. If you deviate from anything they ask or prefer, you are chastised.

Most unprofessional visit ever
My wife had a long-standing appt with Dr. Regis and it was confirmed yesterday. We went through the normal check-in and extensive preliminaries and no one mentioned until Dr. Boles arrived to examine my wife that Dr. Regis was “off today”. He told us to schedule a follow up in one year and the scheduling secretary then told us that the follow up would have to be with Dr. Boles because he was the only remaining Dr. In the firm, that Dr. Regis had been gone for about a month with no plans to return, and that she had no way of contacting Dr. Regis who had been my wife’s regular eye Dr. for several years. Dr. Boles’ website still lists three eye Drs. in the firm including Dr. Regis. This is no way to treat a patient and no way to run a professional office

Additionally, his entire practice provides top quality service; all the associate doctors of the center, the technicians and the support staff are professionals. The front end staff; scheduling, billing and record keeping are well managed, and courteous. All the doctors at Anne Arundel Eye Center and technicians are of the highest quality, well trained, thorough and very professional. Dr. Boles performed cataract surgery 11/19. I was at risk for complications. When the surgery failed, he did not inform my husband that I was blind in the eye. He was too cavalier and did not have a retina specialist on hand for a possible emergency. Upon my next visits, he wanted to do surgery on the other eye and scheduled it. The surgery eye still could not see. My other doctors stated that he was wrong to suggest surgery until my eye sight returned. His bedside manner is nonexistent. Why would he want to do surgery with loss of sight in one eye not restored and good vision still in the other eye.? I still have not healed from the cataract surgery. I have not been back.

I am so entirely impressed from starting the process and finally did my surgery tat I was so nervous to do! I felt so comfortable in the surgery room and Dr Boles was just so comforting and really cares about his patients he shows that through his art! Im forever changed with being able to see again!
