Waste of time
Started the appointment saying he wasn't going to provide the services he was consulted for. Insulted the provider who recommended the requested treatment. Had someone on his phone listening in to do his notes, but I could not verify the person, their credentials, or their purpose. I felt uncomfortable the entire appointment. Didn't seem interested in hearing about my history or treatments tried. Instructed me to take a medication contraindicated to another medication I am on for life. Then gave me names of 2 other doctors that I could seek out for the treatment he was refusing to do. Waste of my time and money. I've lost hope in the healthcare system and the Cleveland Clinic as a whole.

Who’s telling it straight
I have a history of spine cancer that has caused chronic pain for years even after aggressive treatment. Recently I was in a car accident and my back pain more than doubled, the MRI showed spinal stenosis and arachnoiditis. The spine surgeon said he couldn’t help me because surgery would make the arachnoiditis worse. Pain management at one hospital told me he only does injections, which I have already had and failed. Okay, so I find a specialist in arachnoiditis, he looks at my MRI and says it’s fine, there is nothing wrong with it, asks me if I have a law suit against the person who caused the accident, says I don’t have spinal stenosis or arachnoiditis and implies I’m malingering.

I wouldn't waste my time. This doctor never reviewed my medical history or medication I was on at the time. He did nothing nothing more than my primary doctor could. I don't need an extra bill. Had he viewed my history he certainly wouldn't have told me after the 10 minutes he spent with me take go home & take medication I'm not suppose to take. NO THANK YOU!

I have gone to Dr. Samuel for at least 15 years. He is an amazing physician. He listens well and prescribes appropriate meds, PT, and suggestions for actions to take at home. He inquires about family and is knowledgeable about other health situations you are experiencing.

I had an excellent visit and problem review with Dr. Samuel's fellow, Dr. Syed. When Dr. Samuel came in to review what he had found, he provided me with almost no information, ordered a couple of expensive tests without telling me why (they were a repeat of tests I had already had 2 months earlier), and left the room, all within about 2 minutes. The tests came back with the same info found previously. I emailed him for his interpretation, asked a few questions, and received an unhelpful reply without explanation.

He treats patients poorly he refused to give me doctor note for work, he told me just go to work. I told him something is wrong . He ignored what I said for 6 months. No testing done . Ended up having a heart attack. Fired him after that

Saw Dr. Samuel in March. He prescribed low dose naltrexone for my chronic pain. Returned yesterday for follow up. I was terribly disappointed. After telling him that I felt worse on LDN and stopped taking it, as my appt ended he offered to prescribe LDN. I reminded him that he had prescribed it last time and side effects were awful. Point is, he was not paying any attention to me. Must not have even glanced at my chart.
