Dr. Samuel Temesgen, MD

I don't know how he is as a surgeon, but as a psychiatrist he has not impressed me. If I didn't fight and push back non-stop with him, he would have taken me off every medication I was on when I came to him, despite 20+ years of documentation proving my need and the improvements I made on those medications.. As it is, he decided to second guess over a dozen licensed and qualified doctors who slowly helped me find the three medications that kept me stable, focused and able to function on a sustainable basis, and decided he wouldn't prescribe me two of them. I even got the psychological evaluation he asked for and got a provisional diagnosis of ADHD, but he still wanted to split hairs and make excuses to not help me. Walking through life going from one panic attack to the next, and experiencing severe brain fog as a result of my attention deficit symptoms, is not fun. There is so much I should have done by now but I can't hone my focus on anything long enough to get it done, or I get so overwhelmed with even the smallest tasks that I just give up and don't do things that I really should do else I will be screwed over in the future. I understand there is an opioid pandemic, and there are college students who somehow get their hands on a massive quantity of the drugs they use recreationally but that I actually need in order to even break even psychologically/neurologically with my neighbors and coworkers and sustain gainful employment. But seriously, I don't know if he is just using psychiatry as a side gig that he is technically qualified for due to his degree, but I don't personally feel he's doing it very well. And I greatly resent everyday that I struggle and I have to muddle through my day-to-day life without the tools and resources I need, because this doctor is skittish about prescribing patients medicines that have years of documented evidence of helping them and not being habit-forming for them.
