Dr. Samuil Rafailov, DO

My 22yr old son suffered from pilonidal disease for over year getting it periodically drained and having periods of remission. It wasn't until he wanted to join the Coast Guard that he needed to pursue a more permanent fix. Reading the online horrors of procedures gone awry and reccurence, my due diligence led us to Dr. Rafailov and the cleft life procedure. Skilled surgeon (particularly in this procedure), communicative, patiently answered questions and personable... felt at ease from first meet. Procedure went perfectly (May 2023) and he is now in USCG boot camp. Shout out to the girls in the office who facilitated the faxing of forms and information the military required in order to clear him for service. We couldn't be happier and thank you so much!

My 12 y/o son fell while playing a sport and apparently triggered painful inflammation and puss with blood seeping from his tailbone area. We've never seen this happen before and took him to urgent care. The MD suggested seeing a surgeon as all they could do at that moment was drain. And I continued to drain after every few days while looking for a professional. There were only 4 experts in the US (WI, CA, NJ, and NC) that specialize in the cleft procedure which seems to be optimal treatment. I found Dr. Rafailov and set the appointment with his staff. We set an appt for Surgery the following week. He and his staff took such great care of my son and the surgery was a success. My son has his life back to grow up without concern of this horrible disease. Only recently we found that this disease was more common but general surgeons are not choice to perform corrective surgery. Thank you Dr. Rafailov and your staff for everything you've done! We appreciate you and recommend you!

I had a tummy tuck with liposuction with Dr. Rafailov three weeks ago in Hackettstown hospital. Dr. Rafailov was wonderful with explaining the procedure, was great the day of surgery, and so helpful at my follow up appts. I had such great care at Hackettstown hospital also. Dr. Rafailov has the perfect mix of professionalism along with a sense of humor. He is a breath of fresh air in regard to surgeons. I highly recommend him. He has convenient hours, very fair prices and a fantastic bedside manor. My scar is so minimal!!!! Thank you for everything Dr. Rafailov!

From the moment Dr. Rafailov entered my hospital room he exuded empathy, kindness and instilled in me a feeling of trust and confidence. To say that he is the greatest surgeon/hero among men, is an understatement. While treating me he maintained open lines of communication with my family and me and comforted me. His skill as a surgeon is remarkable and I owe him my very life. He had to make hairsplitting decisions regarding when to go in and perform emergency surgery. Skill, competence, kindness and great judgment combined with a great bedside manner make this doctor my hero. He is unassuming and modest and wants only to help his patients thrive. I am indebted to Dr. Rafailov and am blessed to have been his patient.

This dude is top notch. i would recommend to anyone having surgery. he did my hernia surgery and nailed it. couldnt have found a better Dr.
