Dr. Sanagaram Shantharam, MD

Left knee replacement 2007. Made a huge 11 inch incision. Surgery was on Wednesday and doctor did not see me again until Monday. My recovery was long and painful despite aggressive physical therapy. In all honesty, the replacement has served me well and lasted nearly 13 years and doing well after over 7 months of recovery. Right knee done by another doctor 2009 with an 8 inch incision, and was taking West Coast Swing dancing lessons 4 weeks later.

Saw this M.D. on May 1, 2019 in the morning. Tried calling his office but every extension had voice mail which I found unusual. If you have a question regarding your appt. or health insurance how do you get a hold of someone in that office. I kindly asked this M.D. as to why no one answers the phone in his office and boy did I get lectured but not so much about why his staff doesn't answer the phone but how he is unable to have more staff because the patients he sees are those that nobody wants, meaning Medi-cal, Obama Care, and Cal Viva patients. Saying that he gets left overs (patients) and that these insurances don't pay enough and "if patients don't like how he runs his office to hit the road". For having all those degrees and certificates on his wall, he was not at all professional with his response. I felt degraded with this inappropriate response and will never step foot in this office again. No one should be treated like this by asking a sample question.

I would like to say how satisfied I am with my entire experience with this Doctor, staff and surgical team. I am now happily recovering at home and can't thank the entire staff enough. Should I or my family/friends ever need this type of speciality treatment I HIGHLY recommend this Doctor and his ENTIRE staff. Thank you Deana Fulfer, Fresno, Ca

He was concerned,short but to the point he explained exactly what the problem was he read every word of an MRI and gave me a plan of action.He was a 2nd opinion for me he did more for me in 15 min than the first specialist in 30 min,he was very professional,I'm most likely going to ask him to take my whole case for I have several health issues with my bones and joints that I see different Dr's for for the first time in years I finally feel confident for one Dr. And his office staff was AwSome.

Never got a call back after my surgery from the staff to know how I'm feeling. I called several times after my surgery because I was experiencing some complications left several messages and not once did I get my call returned. Ended up going back to the hospital to make sure everything was OKAY and the surgical area. I asked him for a doctors note The same day I got my staples removed because I was going to start work the next day. I felt that I wasn't able to perform my job as my job considers

He helped relieve my trigger finger where I'd seen 3 other Dr's who failed to do so. He has a charming, funny and honest bedside manner. Good memory and humble. Really recommend him greatly.
