I injured my back and was unable to walk, feed myself, or even use the bathroom for four days, Dr. Lee performed a discectomy at 8 AM and by 6 PM the same day I was home, pain-free, walking, and going up and down the stairs on my own. The procedure was minimally invasive and I didn’t even get stitches! The wound on my back is barely visible after just one month of recovery. Dr. Lee literally changed my life for the better and I will always be grateful for that.

Dr. Sang Hun Lee did a great job with my first visit and exam of my C and Lumbar Spine. He explained everything to me in a very clear manner and very informative way. He is so professional, kind, and friendly. It’s rare to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and cares for a patient. He has outstanding quality medical care. I have an upcoming surgery for my C spine and my Lumbar spine from him and I’m positive and hoping that it will be a success and it will benefit me. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Lee’s surgery to relieve debilitating lumbar spinal pressure on my spinal cord is helping damaged nerves to heal with the result I am regaining use of my left leg and feet. When my physical therapist concluded home visits today, June 14; a month after the surgery, I was learning to walk without assistance other than a cane. I have had virtually no pain and take nompain relievers. I am very pleased.

I had long standing issues with my neck, C2 thru C5. I had recently fallen down seven steps. This caused compression, restriction in the canal. Dr. Lee stepped e thru the mri images, explaining the results. He offered a minimum invasive procedure should I need that down the road.

Dr.Lee's credentials are as top-notch as possible for my case of cancer metastasis to the spine, pressing on the nerves to my leg; got to unbearable (10/10 severity) pain. Took pains to listen to all my problems, & when condition unexpectedly worsened after clinic visit with him, shepherded me through middle-of-the-night admission through E.R. in an extremely smooth and effective manner, got me much-needed pain relief. Came in to see me, even in the early morning hours on a Sunday. Arranged to get all the imaging workup studies (CT & MRI scans) done expeditiously as an inpatient while my temporary pain relief treatment kicked in. Arranged for comprehensive cancer care: interventional radiology, did incredibly intricate surgery flawlessly, radiation therapy, chemotherapy all in shortest time possible. I'm a retired microsurgeon myself, so I know how difficult and dangerous the operation was. This surgery was beyond what my hometown orthopedic surgeon felt do-able for him-so blessed!

I have suffered with disabling neck pain for many years. I’ve seen multiple doctors, had physical therapy, injections and many other procedures including a spinal cord stimulator implanted that all promised to improve my pain. As the pain began making my daily life difficult I decided it was time to see a surgeon. At my first appointment with Dr. Lee I felt very comfortable with him as he explained a plan to help me. Finally! I had complete faith in Dr. Lee and so glad I did!! He performed a cervical discectomy with fusion from C4 - C7 two months ago. I had anticipated my recovery being much slower than it has been. Other then the first couple days in the hospital, I have been able to do most everything I need to do with minimal difficulty. I have some soreness in my upper back that is slowly improving, Dr. Lee explained this is normal for the type of surgery I had. I am so grateful to Dr. Lee and to Johns Hopkins for the excellent care I received. Thank you so much!

Dr. Lee is very attentive to understanding and listening to pain and problems I am having. He is very kind and works very hard to assess the problem at hand and try to find the best course of treatment. He performed my lumbar fusion and did a wonderful job keeping me informed, as pain free as possible and was very thorough going over everything with me.

Self-referred after my MRI showed Spondylosis L5-S1, with back pain, and bilateral lower extremity pain/numbness/tingling. I had a prior back surgery in the late 1990s with a different spine surgeon. Dr. Lee reviewed the images (MRI) with me, ordered some pelvic xrays which led to needing to see his colleague that works on the hips. Had he not obtained the xrays, I never would've known that my right groin pain was a "hip issue", and *not* my back. I still have a back issue that will likely need surgery to fix. But first Dr. Lee wants to try epidural shots & PT for 2 months. So glad I went to him & will see the hip doctor first while beginning conservative treatment for my back.

Dr. Lee was in a word phenomenal ! He was very reassuring and performed complicated surgery that allowed me to regain function in my hands and feet. He literally saved my life. I am indebted to him.
