For two years my wife suffered under Dr. Sanjeev Maniar at Lee Memorial Hospital. He failed to diagnose or treat her Parkinson’s and mild dementia. He did nothing but say, “Come back in six months.” at the end of each short visit. Caching! Her symptoms got progressively worse. We finally found another neurologist.

Dr Maniar is a great doctor! At my first visit, I wasn’t sure. He was in and out in no time. I did not realize how good of a doctor he really is. He diagnosed me, got me on the correct meds, and if something arises, he orders the correct tests. After he knows that you are there for the right reasons, he really cares and is sweet as can be.

No bedside manners, I was hospitalized for over a month due to epilepsy. His office allowed my mom (who has a severe form of mental issues amongst other things. I had to have her removed from my records ) . to call his office saying I was addicted to drugs. I went to see him, he didn’t touch me or look at me. He sat at his desk and told me to come back to see him once I saw a psychiatrist and walked out and the office still expected me to pay a $45 copay. The seizure literally killed me because I had it in my sleep and caused other issues the worst was nerve pain. My MD requested that I see another dr. I was denied. So I’m literally stuck with him because I cldnt find another neurologist that was linked to Gulfcoast Hospital. I’m seeing his assistant who seems to have more knowledge than he does. She brought things to his attention.

Dr might be good but I won't be going back. I described my symptoms. He ordered tests and wrote my diagnosis as having a TIA which I did not have. I was having some dizziness and a tingling of my upper lip and toe which was intermittent. I'm dissatisfied with the office and won't put myself through that again. My primary doctor referred me to him in early January. They said they didn't get the referral and I was finally given an appointment for the end of March . I had tests scheduled mid April with a follow up late May. I went to the follow up today and was told I didn't have an appointment. I told them I had rescheduled it over the phone a month ago. Seemed like the receptionist was trying to put it on me. So next appointment is scheduled for late June. I wil follow up my own doctor.

I've seen him twice. Not personable, does not take time to get to know you as a person nor as one with a chronic illness. Performs a minimal neuro exam. How does he know how one's disease is progressing? My office visit was probably all of 7 minutes & 2 of those minutes I was trying to hurry & get out my questions before he left the room. Intelligence is not the only attribute required to be a good physician.
