Disappointing
Information about a paticular antidrepessant was not given to me that turned out to be just right for me.

Careless

There was nothing professional about Sara Lerner during my first appointment with her that she was ten minutes late to. She only saw me for 15 minutes, and misdiagnosed me and put me on a medication that nearly had me hospitalized. When the misdiagnosis was brought to her attention, she declined doing it, although it was clearly stated in the visit notes. I do not recommend Sara Lerner to anyone.

Dehumanizing and arrogant.
Telehealth
late writing this but it’s about time. Saw her a couple years ago to try and address my ADHD, during which there were instances of her disregarding specific things I had told her in favor of attributing my problems to depression instead of ADHD. Told her I brought notes or else I wouldn’t be able to explain much on my own, a symptom of what I intend to treat here. She later says I explain just fine as if I hadn’t just relied on notes the whole time. Kept asking me about depression. Eventually I have to concede. Compared me to Eeyore. Told me that there’s actually NO correlation between financial stress and depression, instead I should have less luxurious standards (which she assumes I must?!), then closed out the call by telling me that she got into psychiatry because people are interesting, like little novels. Put in my note that I don’t have ADHD. Didn’t explain why or bother to tell me herself in the first place.Would be more thorough if not for 1k word limit. Find another one.

Terrible
Doctor Lerner jokes about suicide in my very first meeting with her. She said “don’t off yourself before your next appointment.”

My savior!
Dr. Sara J. Lerner helped me tremendously! After counseling with Dr. Lerner about what I was going through, she increased my anti-depressant medication to the appropriate level needed, which reduced the intensity of my anxiety significantly. This small change in my medication made a huge difference in how I felt. I FINALLY felt comfortable in my own skin again! We currently working on my ADHD meds and it is going well. Thanks, Dr. Lerner !

Wonderful
Dr. Lerner was warm and empathetic, with intuitive communication skills and a positive and proactive approach. I can't say enough good things about my visits with her, which I especially appreciate after decades of varying experiences with different practitioners.

Very uncomfortable with this practitioner - which is unfortunate as I've had very positive experiences with others at this healthcare facility as my needs dictated over the years. My chief complaints would be difficult in engaging with patient, appointment felt rushed and extremely impersonal, and I'm not convinced her experience is really up to date on specific issues.

Dr. Lerner is a terrible doctor. She’s completely ignorant to standards professionalism in her practice, as well as the basic fundamentals of the neuroscience underpinning psychiatry. Instead, she preys on her patients using emotional manipulation, along disrespectful and degrading tactics to develop dependent relationships for her own financial gain. Dr. Lerner is bad person and a bad psychiatrist - avoid her if you can help it.

Since November 2, 2020, patients can view clinical notes. I noticed that I was seeing a strange diagnosis that had never been discussed with me so I investigated by looking further back. Apparently Dr. Lerner diagnosed me with a factitious disorder because I mentioned an olfactory hallucination of smelling ants (yes, they have a smell) and other symptoms she described as bizarre. She came to this conclusion in my first and only visit with her. She is among the people who make it difficult for folks to seek mental health help.

Terrific! Dr. Lerner listened to our issues, respected our knowledge and had very good recommendations. Not at all sure why she has gotten negative reviews. Our experience with her was that she was very down-to-earth, welcoming, human and warm. She clearly has considerable experience. We trust her.

I called dr Lerner to get a status on my husbands medicine and she told me "I wouldn't have answered, but I was expecting another call." She's prescribed my husband extremely high doses of drugs she won't tell me about. We have signed a release.
