My experience with Dr. Elfering was unfortunately really negative. My first time seeing her was in 2017 where I received a startling and life changing diagnosis. I became very emotional and her attempts to comfort me were very dismissive of my feelings and the rest of our appointment felt quite rushed. She is one of the few nephology clinicians in network for me and geographically close to where I live, but I'm so hesitant to see her again because I don't want to be re-traumatized. Furthermore, since my appointment with her back in 2017, I have come out as trans and I am even more concerned about her ability to provide comprehensive and holistic care.

Dr. Elfering was clear with my diagnosis, and patiently explained things until I understood. She was understanding and compassionate with a gentle sense of humor. It may take quite a while to get an appointment, but it is well worth the wait.
