Dr. Sarah Hon, DO

I had just moved to Kansas City for a new job when I had a vestibular migraine attack. It lasted for two weeks with vertigo and head pain until I sought care at KU. The ER had me follow-up with Dr. Hon, and it was truly the worst medical experience I've ever had. Not only did she show up 25 minutes late to my appointment, which was the first one that day, she laughed at me when I said I'd had a nasal procedure done to try to help with my condition. 'It didn't work, did it?' She also didn't believe just how bad my pain had been. Not only that, but since I'd just moved to the area for work, my health insurance hadn't kicked in yet. When Dr. Hon mentioned a costly treatment, I said it'd be two months before I'd have insurance. She got up, sighed, and said, 'You are making my job extremely difficult.' I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor and belittled about my chronic condition. If you truly want to see a doctor who cares about you, do not book an appointment with Dr. Hon.

My initial appointment with Dr. Hon, she took a lot of time and asked a lot of questions prior to her diagnosis and treatment plan. 2nd visit, went ok, much less time spent. Injections, whirlwind appt. In and out in 15 minutes. I was having some pretty unsettling symptoms afterwards that could have or could not have been related to the injections so I left a message for Dr. Hon's nurse to call me back about my concerns. I never received a call that day, nor any day after the fact either. I was ultimately admitted after I visited the ER and still no phone call from their office. Next injection appt- rescheduled due to family member Covid symptoms, almost a week later and again no call from the nurse to get me rescheduled. It takes months to get in for injections at their office; the least they could do is call their patient back if they were courteous enough to keep you safe by foregoing their own health needs to make yours a priority...

Dr Hon has been amazing. I would recommend her to anyone. She listened to all of my complaints and was interested in my thoughts about my own treatment.

Dr Hon was very pleasant. Shared info as appropriate. I highly recommend her, and would s hed appt with her as needed.

She was a lifesaver for me when I was looking for a neurologist. She always, always has my best care in mind. I recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Hon is a warm, caring, very knowledgeable neurologist. She is very attentive and treats my mother with respect. My mother enjoys coming to see her and trusts her implicitly.

I highly recommend Dr Hon. She immediately put me at ease and earned my trust as she is well informed and up to date on current treatments for my chronic migraines. She listens to everything I have to say. If I have any concerns, no matter how silly they may seem, she makes the time to give me answers that I can understand. I absolutely recommend her and her awesome staff for the patient who needs treatment of real pain management.

Dr. Hon is an excellent neurologist and has much knowledge across the spectrum/multitude of conditions that can effect neurological health! She provides me treatment for chronic migraines and acts as an important member of my multiple sclerosis treatment team. Dr. Hon takes the time to really listen to concerns about symptoms and reciprocates the same respect I give her. She is well informed surrounding even relatively new treatment options and educates on possible benefits vs risks. A+ care!!!

I receive excellent, personalized care when I see Dr. Hon. She always listens to any of my concerns, is friendly and very knowledgeable. The office staff are always helpful, and the office is very clean and organized. I do not have a long wait for my appointment, nor do I feel rushed when I am talking with her. Dr. Hon has been my doctor for many years, and she is a good listener and has a great memory. I feel very confident in the care I receive by her.

Although I hope to never have to recommend Dr. Hon to a family member because God forbid something happens to them like what happened to me. I would recommend her in a heartbeat. I've been seeing here for going on 10 years after a stroke I had when I was 27. She has always steered me straight and was key I'm my recovery.
