Dr. Jones is the only reason I have continued to seek care at UVA Neurology. She is WONDERFUL compassionate and innovative. The department is extremely disorganized and does not have enough help.

Never again
Dr. Jones served as an assigned dr to my 89 year old father that had just been told he would be moved to hospice. She proceeded to come in and discuss rehab with him. When I questioned her on why she would be discussing rehab with an 89 year old man with Stage 4 Lung cancer that had developed Myasthenia gravis she became very defensive to the point of condescending. I had her removed from my father's case and filed a complaint with UVA hospital. Wouldn't let her near anyone I cared about ever again.

doc doesn't understand results of tests
I saw Jones for peripheral neuropathy. Some test results were abnormal. Her response was that she "didn't know what to make of" the abnormal results. Her best suggestion was to get a personal trainer. She offered no additional steps regarding abnormal test results. Why would a doctor order a test she cannot interpret nor feel compelled to do further blood work to figure out why an immunoglobin test result was abnormal? This was especially distressing as I have a strong family history of autoimmune diseases.

Dr Jones is very knowledgeable, concerned, listens very well, and truly cares about the patient. She spends as much time at the visit ad needed and follows up when I have questions that can't be answered right then. She was able to diagnose my very rare conditioned quickly after many others had failed.

No, I would not. After an excruciating two years under her inadequate care, I found a sterling neurologist elsewhere who provided both a complex diagnosis and treatment for my disabling neoropathy. Dr. Jones was personally insulting, sloppy in her diagnosis and unwilling to offer any medication.

I have never see a doctor more condescending than this one. She barely listens to your description of your symptoms and problems before she goes into a rant on what she “knows” to be wrong. Her skills at relating with patients is atrocious. I can’t speak for her neurological skills because her minions take care of my issues, but her people skills are a zero.

I have severe neurological symptoms, including numbness that causes my legs to collapse and me to fall, that have been dismissed as "unimportant" by this doctor. That she might have trouble finding a diagnosis to explain this and other symptoms, which another, referring doctor called autonomic, would be understandable if she made any effort to explore possibilities. However, she has been rude and dismissive, calling such symptoms inevitable at my age and most likely psychological in origin. (Since when is she a psychiatrist?) She calls herself an expert in autoimmune disorders, but she had no interest in looking into my history of the autoimmune diseases that have been linked by research to neurological issues. To call her manner a poor bedside one seems inadequate; her manner seems to me not only personally insulting but also medically irresponsible.
