Dr Popek is the definition of a highly skilled, caring, and dedicated health care professional. I recently underwent colon resection surgery. During the entire process Dr Popek kept me informed and involved in all matters. She is intelligent, to the point, and has a great sense of humor. Her ( and her team) surgical skills are excellent. I was in and out of the hospital in two days with minimal discomfort. Cannot thank her enough....highly recommend!!! forever grateful to have been blessed with her and her team when I needed them

She saved my life, literally, after a general surgeon refused to accept he didn't understand what caused my issues. I had 8 surgeries before I was referred to her; she fixed my problem and the resulting damage in 3 surgeries. I literally owe Dr. Popek my life. She was always humble, sympathetic, and treated me with respect. Plus, she's LGBT friendly! I highly recommend Dr. Popek! I cannot say enough good things about this hero... I've always had great experiences for 5 years. She is now at UNM.

Dr. Popek's surgical skill quite literally saved my life. She removed my colon under emergency circumstances and has followed my care for the past 1.5 years. She is incredibly knowledgeable and kind. She cares for her patients a great deal and always has always taken my concerns very seriously. I could not recommend a doctor more wholeheartedly.

I put off getting help for my rectal condition for years; however, this was not necessary because Dr. Popek made me feel very comfortable regarding my problem. Dr. Popek handled the matter with the upmost professionalism and sensitivity. I would recommend her to anyone needing this kind of help.
