He leads my multiple myeloma treatment
I was grandfathered to his care when my oncologist left town. Tuchman has shepherded me through relapses, a common feature of my disease. The last decision on treatment was over 80 treatment cycles ago. I asked questions about alternatives and he explained with details why his recommendation was favored over others. He had obviously studied other options and offered data to support his recommendation. Now after over a decade in his care I trust him and welcome his input.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Tuchman?
His communication was abrupt at times, did not listen well to patient or family needs and concerns when asking detailed questions about my care he seemed defensive in his responses and at times uncaring. I believe these problems with communication did effect my overall care and outcomes, as a result I decided to change physicians. Since changing, my clinical presentation has improved as well as my confidence about my care. There's a difference when a physician talks at you vs with you.

What could be improved
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
