Dr. Patel , and his staff are extremely professional. He performed Detached Retina Surgery on me and laser surgery...and I have had no problems since then. I have recommended two others to visit him and they too are very pleased. He is awesome and I will not visit anyone else for my eyes. Dr. Patel told me ....he was the BEST, and I now know that's true!! I feel lucky to have found him!

1/2/2020 - FAILED VITRECTOMY. I was referred to Dr. Patel for a Vitrectomy in 2019. As a precondition, recommended by Patel, I had cataract surgery and his thousand dollar laser treatment to prevent retinal tears during his surgery. I went into the surgery with 20/400 sight in the subject eye, came out with 20/400 ... and still have 20/400 sight many, many months later. My sight never improved, is permanently fuzzy and wavy and my night sight is worse than before the Vitrectomy. Patel has no real explanation for this failed surgery and schedules follow up visits many months later, telling me my sight will improve with time .... It hasn't. I am so sorry I started down this path. I had a total of four surgeries/ procedures, all for nothing.

Dr Patel performed a vitrectomy on me when all other Drs told me to live with my dense floaters. When the bandages came off yesterday, I saw the clearest I have seen in years. I can play tennis again after almost giving it up. I can't say enough about Dr Patel and his staff. His office is so busy because he is so good.

Yesterday 7/3/18, I was having symptoms in my right eye. My Opthomologist thought it might be a tear in my retina and referred me to Dr. Patel. I called the office and spoke with a not very pleasant receptionist and then the nurse, who told me that if I was willing to forgo my insurance and pay $195, the doctor would see me that afternoon. I can't believe that a doctor would stoop to the level of demanding a cash payment before addressing a potentially serious visual problem in a patient

I did not see Dr Patel since he requires you to sign a waiver for law suits that require arbitration and limit damages. I left because this was my first visit and I did not check on his malpractice record. I just didn't feel comfortable with all the legal language.

If you see Dr. Patel plan on getting a 2nd opinion because he wants to operate at the drop of a dime or dollar- literally same afternoon. Check because good chance surgery is NOT needed. His staff was very uncooperative and rude in sending records. In shot, try someone else.

I was in Naples for a month in April, 2015 and had a detached retina that needed emergency surgery. When there was an insurance delay, Dr Patel got me into the office for a laser procedure to keep it from getting worse and 3 days later did the main surgery. I didn't understand before how serious a detached retina was. I now have 20/50 vision, which I now know is a fantastic result. His quick reaction and willingness to work with me in getting the money dealt with saved my vision in that eye

This surgery is the best procedure I have ever had. The cataract debris left behind after cataract surgery was so bad that I had given up reading. When driving, the "clouds" would distort my vision.

Reason for appointment was evaluation of my retinas. Experiencing no problems, but family history of acute macular degeneration and I have been told by regular ophthalmologist that I have drusens in my eyes. He was highly competent and the office visit was efficient and very professional. I am a physician and I have recommended him to several of my patients. Highly recommend.

Dr. Patel examined my retinas and misdiagnosed my retinal condition as lattice degeneration. I went to 3 other retinal specialists to confirm I did not have this. He did not spend much time with me but wanted to perform laser surgery the same day for a condition I did not have. This was unnecessary and costly, so would avoid this doctor.
