Was provided with an appt quickly as well as a surgery date. Dr Thakkar had agreed to redo a previous knee replacement (performed by a different physician) that had failed. I had complete confidence in his abilities. He was kind, thorough, answered all my questions patiently and treated me with respect. Being a nurse, I've dealt with many physicians over the past 30 years and Dr Thakkar is as professional & humble as they come. I've seen him for post-op care as well as injections in my other knee. When the timing is appropriate I will request he replace my other knee also.

Socially inept, socially awkward, arrogant, rude, and has anger management problems. We decided not to pursue surgery with this provider, and we have reported him to the CEO and head of orthopedic surgery of the Washington Hospital Center, and to the DC medical board. I strongly feel that he should not be allowed to practice.
