Dr. Scarlett Kroencke, DPM

I met with Dr. Kroencke who immediately scheduled me to return for ingrown toenail surgery. When I asked about the lump on the left of my big toe she didn't feel concerned. I returned for the surgery - rescheduling clients- and she numbed the toe then looked at it and asked if she had Xrayed the toe before. She THEN did an X-ray - something that I am told an experienced physician would have already done & said she thought this was something she had only seen in adolescent males (I am a middle aged woman) and then scheduled surgery! I left with a numb foot and spoke with my M.D. who said under no circumstances should I return. I then met with a surgeon who said under no circumstances to allow her to operate & to ignore everything she said. He he believed she was 100% off the mark & asked if she had checked for cancer as he did. He then sent me for an MRI & scheduled surgery. She also sent a bill for the anesthetic she had use & the appointment she screwed up. I am so glad I left.

I'm usually loathe to leave negative reviews for medical professionals, but I'm truly disappointed in Dr. Koencke. I went to see her for pain in my ankle and in my toe (unrelated). She did a cursory exam (just looked at my foot) and then said there was nothing she could do, and tat I should just stop wearing boots or doing anything that caused pain. That was her long-term solution. She had no diagnosis for the problem, just announced that I just had to deal with it.

Dr. Kroencke is knowledgeable and efficient. I have gone to her for several different foot ailments.

She wasn't able to call up x-rays from a former visit to see if there had been improvement in bone growth. Seems to me that that is a basic diagnostic technique. I would have been embarrassed to reveal that to a patient.
