Not worth the hassle
Be prepared to wait up to 2 hours past your appointment time to see the doctor. Also be prepared to spend countless hours getting tests that are not really necessary. The office staff, particularly the staff that handles prescriptions is incompetent, at best, and just doesn't care, at worst. I recently called in excess of 5 times to correct a prescription (this is not the first incorrectly called in prescription either) and it's still not resolved. At least 50% of the time, they don't even answer the phone when they're supposed to be open. The phone number just endlessly rings with not even an opportunity to leave a voicemail, or it picks up and it's just dead air before disconnecting. For all these reasons, it's just not worth the hassle.

Worth the wait
Yes, I waited awhile for the doctor to come in the room with me but once he came in he spent a really long time withe going over all aspects of my medical history. I feel like he really took time to get to know me and my issues instead of rushing me in and out. I'd rather wait for good care than to be in and out of the office somewhere else.

Dr. Richardson is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. Every visit is 45 - 60 minutes late waiting for him. He is rude. He orders excessive testing, even the quest nurses call his blood testing the Richardson tests. He prescribes unwarranted medications and doesn't answer patients' questions. His staff is unresponsive. We have waited four months to receive our medical records - still don't have them. When we finally got a copy from another source, he lied on his records.

WARNING!
His staff is difficult to communicate with by phone. One hour wait for him to arrive in the office to see me. What was a minor side effect turned into a major disease $&$$$$ in the initial office visit. Excessive testing of every kind requested. He is not professional. He is over-bearing and jumps to negative conclusions about health issues. He uses fear and intimidation to influence to get patients to be in his care.

Very thorough and good diagnostic skills
I have been seeing Dr Richardson since he began his practice. He immediately diagnosed myasthenia gravis as my mystery illness. He is very thorough and will do a myriad of blood tests and other things to find every possible reason for your problem. I trust him completely. Yes, his office wait times are long. I try to schedule early appointments.

Best Doctor EVER!
Doctor Richardson is a blessing to the medical profession. He is brilliant and thorough. I drive from Santa Barbara to see him when the doctor in Santa Barbara didn’t listen to me about my gallbladder, he sent me to a specialist, and it ended up the nerves were dead in my gallbladder he saved my life from having gangrene. I’m sure of it! He identified there was something wrong with my neck and it ended up. I had 50% bone spurs, and had to have surgery for the removal and my life is so much better for Matt as well. He is a master healer and great human being.

Best neurologist, thorough, long wait times
staff person responsible for sending in prescriptions needs to be fired .. she NEVER does her job and I mean NEVER .. takes multiple calls and at times extra visits and the other staff to check her desk where it is found that a prescription had laid there for more than 10 days. Making a patient pay for prescriptions when already paying for the office visit is unheard of in the industry and even when paying for the prescriptions the job was NOT done

Dr. Richardson is a wonderful dr but his staff needs to work on doing a better job like him. They are not efficient at all it takes a long time to get a referral even if you call them several times. To get blood word, medications, equipment you name it, it will take several months to get it done

Listen I do not understand why all of these people are complaining about all of the test Dr. Richardson does. He is the most thorough doctor I’ve ever met. I have a serious medical condition and I’ve been to over 40 specialist Dr Richardson has been the only one to believe me and hear me out and to investigate my health condition. While all other doctors Wanted to write me off as having anxiety Dr Richardson listened and they what he can to help find a diagnosis which I finally was able to get one. He is a great doctor and I am truly grateful that I am one of his patients. I really truly mean this.

Sadly Dr Richardson is narcissistic egomaniac with a God complex. He makes you wait for well over an hour, sometimes two, and then insists that if you want him to work with you, you need to be patient. He does take lengthy notes and makes you feel like he is being thorough, but, he never looks at you to observe the behaviors and idiosyncrasies we have come for help with. The battery of tests are exhausting and revealed nothing. Always prefaced with, "What Medicare will pay for". Looking like it's just about the money to me. His office staff is also less than competent. A last minute cancellation so he could take an extra week over the holidays is just plain rude. We're out.

No matter what your reason for visiting Dr Richardson he will send you for 25+ labs (18+ vials of blood to fill takes more than 1 poke btw), MRI, EEG, EMG and more. I have 4 co-workers that went to him and it was the same thing!!! He will exhaust your FSA and wallet only to find out all tests were normal. We all had the same experience. His staff wasn't processional. You definitely feel like they're in this for the money and no other reason. Also, avoid cancelling w/out 48 hours notice or they will charge you $170+. You will also WAIT and WAIT and WAIT for your apt. Likely 45-60 minutes in a tiny room just waiting. I had this experience as did all of my co-workers. AVOID THIS GUY!

I’ve seen Dr. Richardson for several years and he is absolutely one of the most thorough and tenacious doctors I’ve known when it comes to figuring out what is wrong with you. He is truly a patient advocate! I have found him to be kind, caring and thoughtful. He never rushes me and always addresses everything I’ve brought forth. He has helped uncover potential life threatening issues in me and I am forever grateful. His staff is super helpful. Friendly and accommodating.

Needed a nerve conduction study. He insisted that I first have a consultation appt. instead of having it at the same time as the test. Took days to get an appt. because his staff failed to call back. Then had to cancel the day of appt. because my boss was out & I couldn't leave the office. He then refused to see me at all.

I can only say good things about Dr. Scot Richardson. He was always there for my deceased husband, diagnosed him right on with a very rare Parkinson's disease (Shy-Drager syndrome). When things got bad, he did take my calls after hours. You might have to wait a little in the waiting room, but it is worth it because when it is your turn he takes his time and listens (lots of doctors do not do that). I'm now seeing Dr. Richardson myself and I know I'm under the best care possible. And trust me, h

Dr. Richardson is competent for my MS needs. I particularly appreciate his thoroughness with testing, evaluation. The problem I have with his service is his office staff. Over the years, and most currently, staff personnel changes consistently, is untrained in their responsibilities, does not follow through with his orders, and, has no follow through to me. I have been Dr. Richardson's patient for eight yrs at least. Am seriously contemplating a change. Sad.
