Dr. Scott Gilchrist, MD

I was looking for a new obgyn. I made an appt with Dr. Gilchrist. My husband and I explained to him that I had been suffering from depression and my libido was low. He quickly asked me in response to this… “ Were you sexually abused as a child?” I sat there in shock. Of course not! I had been under a lot of stress at that time with my job, which we explained to him. My blood pressure was up. He quickly blamed it on my bc pills. He put on no estrogen bc pills. I had a period that lasted from October until February. I became anemic and even more exhausted. I finally was able to get in with Dr. Lazenby at the Medical Center. Dr. Lazenby fixed every thing and got me back on track.

Dr.Gilchrist explained everything very well. He has very well bedside manners and very polite. For me he explained everything to me step by step. The nurse that be in the room with him is nice and polite. I didn’t have a problem making an appointment

Horrible, absolutely unprofessional. I did a lot of research on my own (not from blogs, from scientific journals), but when I brought it up he blew me off. The research I was bringing up went directly contradictory to what he was recommending/ordering me to do. He told me to stop asking questions and do what he said because I wasn't a doctor. When I asked him to look at the research he refused and actually got mad at me. He chooses to be ignorant of recent research, I consider that unsafe.

Dr. Gilchrist has excellent bed side manner and knows how to establish rapport with his patients. He is very professional and genuinely cares about his patients. He makes his patients feel comfortable and welcome. I enjoyed having him as my doctor on my very first visit as an Aventa patient.

After struggling with infertility for nearly 4 years, Dr. Gilchrist always maintained a patient and compassionate heart. He not only performed procedures that allowed us to conceive, but he also prayed over my husband and I. He is a WONDERFUL doctor and Godly man. Dr. Cleveland ended up being the doctor on call when we delivered our miracle baby. I highly recommend any of the doctors on staff at Aventa. Great atmosphere, great compassion and great sense of "home."

Staff is always very nice and professional. Dr. Gilchrist takes the time to answer any questions or concerns you might have. I have been using Dr. Gilchrist for over 17 years.
