Dr. Hollenbeck’s UVA profile states, “I care about the patient experience as much as I care about the final results,” Dr. Hollenbeck says. Let me tell you about my patient experience. I am a HER2 breast cancer survivor. I just went through a whole year of infusion with chemo and immunotherapy, mastectomy and lymph node removal. Dr. Campbell, who this man supervises, did my reconstructive surgery. I was happy with it. Then I got an echo and the wand got jammed into my left lateral side too hard which dislodged the breast implant which dropped down and caused pain. I thought my doctor would repair this. Instead, he and Dr. Hollenbeck in their great wisdom and kindness, completely dismissed me from UVA plastics. I am likely getting a better repair surgery at Johns Hopkins now than I would’ve gotten at UVA by a staff that really didn’t want to do the right thing. It would have had to be written up as a safety incident. My Johns Hopkins doctor is amazing and world class.

I have already recommended both my surgeons to other people.

This team was amazing from the initial visit, pre-op, day of surgery, and follow-up. They took excellent care of my Mother.

Dr. Hollenbreck explained my situation thoroughly. He listed my options, and he included me in the decision making. Dr. Hollenbreck was very pleasant and patient oriented.

Very considerate and professional care. Attentive to my concerns and really listened. It was an excellent consultation and made me feel confident in the care I would receive.

Dr. Hollenbeck has been amazing throughout my surgeries. He took the time to review my medical records and explain a treatment plan to help me to get back to looking and feeling normal again.

Overall splendid

I had a right mastectomy in 2017 and at the advice of my breast surgeon, I waited two years before pursuing reconstruction. I was fortunate to see Dr. Hollenbeck for a consult. I immediately knew he was the doctor who could help restore what cancer took from me. I had my first surgery in October, and my second surgery just recently. I am not quite done, but I am so thankful for what he has done for me. He and his staff are wonderful and I am so grateful to be his patient. His PA Nichole and his nurse Danielle are awesome....as well as each person who works with him. He shows compassion and concern and I never feel like "just a patient". I cannot imagine having had any other plastic surgeon for this huge surgery. I trust him completely. He is an amazing plastic surgeon and a kind and caring man. I am fortunate to be his patient.

I don't know if I am upset with Dr. Hollenbeck or his office manager/scheduler Julie. I had stage 3 breast cancer with a single mastectomy. I am post radiation and in my window to consider reconstruction. My AMAZING surgeon who did my mastectomy referred me to Dr. Hollenbeck. I was told it was about a 2 month wait to even get in to see him. His scheduler Julie was the most COLD hearted person. Bottom line she said something to Dr Hollenbeck to completely REFUSE me as a patient now....

Amazing doctor!!!! Dr. Hollenbeck made me feel comfortable and explained everything that i expect with my surgery. He truly has a servants heart.
