I had a THR from Dr Kelley. From the very beginning I had pain in my thigh and groin. I was constantly told by his PA that it was normal, it was me over doing it, I needed to take anti inflammatory medication, it was going to take time and still nothing has changed after a year. His PA is now recommending cortisone shots! If you have problems you will not see Dr Kelley only his PA.

Anterior Hip replacement surgery
I had a wonderful experience with Dr Kelley and his staff as I had my surgery on Tuesday September 20th. After just 3 days I feel about 60 or 70% better already. Hats off to doctor Kelley and his staff for their care and concern

Sadly I am no longer confident in the care of Dr Kelley. This is due in large part to all postop care being delivered by his P.A. No help and no answers were given to me when I continued having weakness and pain in the thigh and groin following total hip replacement..

I recently had knee replacement surgery by Dr. Scott Kelley. My outcome has been superb. I have known Dr. Kelley as a fellow health care provider for over 30 years. His credentials are impeccable, and his clinical skills are unequaled. I recommend Dr. Kelley and his team most highly.

The most horrible and life-changing experience (in the worst possible way) in my husband’s and my life! After more than three years since my husband’s TKR, he still can’t straighten or bend his leg, and the resulting poor gait has caused him to develop bursitis of the opposite hip. He can only walk about 30 feet without excruciating pain. Even though Dr. Kelley saw that my husband’s ROM was not improving after almost three months, he had no suggestions as to how to fix it. He was insulting and he and his staff were non-responsive. My husband followed all Kelley’s instructions. After three months post-surgery we consulted with other surgeons and were told most of the mechanism would have to be replaced, but they could not guarantee the outcome. My husband is too old now to go through the agony again with no assurances. Dr. Kelley has ruined my husband’s quality of life forever. Trust me when I say there are other, more trustworthy surgeons out there.

Dr. Kelley performed a knee replacement for me 5 years ago. I was scared to death, his staff (Jamie Messersmith, PA) were patient with me, answered all my questions, and gave me what I needed to go forward. I was impressed with the fact that both PT and rehab were very familiar with him and his methods. He is well respected in the ortho community. I am actually looking forward to having my other knee done Spring of 2019.

Dr Kelley performed 2 replacements of the same knee in a 4-month period because of a fall. After I fell a second time Dr. Kelley turned me over to his partner; he never spoke to me again. After a third fall my total was 5 surgeries in 6 months and many courses of IV antibiotics. I went to Mayo Clinic for a third knee replacement which worked; I was told the fault was not mine or my falls but that the falls were caused because the first joint replacement was done incorrectly.

Dr. Kelley has just completed my second knee replacement. I couldn't say enough positives to describe his work. I am grateful every day that I found him. I enjoy an active lifestyle and was on the sidelines because of my knees. I felt cared for and respect by him and his entire team.

Dr. Kelley provides newer techniques/approaches to hip surgery than some other surgeons in the area. My hip surgery went without a hitch, and I had no problems with recovery.. The frontal approach he used left a minimal scar (almost disappeared after one year) and there was no muscle cut that had to heal afterwards. I would definitely go back to him if I ever need any other joint surgery!

Scott Kelley, MD and Jamie Messersmith, PA-C were an amazing team to have when having my double knee replacement. Not only were they surgically gifted, but kept me well informed both before and after surgery about what to expect. My knees are one year old today and I am enjoying being active again, walking and biking without difficulty. I would highly recommend Dr. Kelley to anyone contemplating knee or hip surgery. Great surgeon and he and Jamie are great people too!

Absolutely first class treatment from Dr. Kelley and all of his team. They are all so warm and friendly and put you at ease right away. I am almost six weeks out from a total knee replacement and I feel great!! After years of dealing with knee braces and constant searing pain. I now ask myself why did I put up with it for so long??? Thank you Dr. Kelley and staff for giving me my life back!!!

I told Dr. Kelley when we scheduled my surgery 15 weeks from my son's wedding that I had to be able to dance at the wedding. Just got back from the wedding-- I danced my feet off! The practice is efficient and well managed, and all the staff are a pleasure to deal with. He gives very clear verbal, written and video instructions--I followed every bit of it. My recovery was smooth, any questions were addressed quickly, and, for the first time in 3 years, I have no back and hip pain!

FIXED THE FIRST TIME AND FOREVER Previous surgeon said I had two worst hips "this side of the 3rd world!". They caused back and knee problems, bladder issues, little sleep for 5 years, etc. Hours after my right hip was done, all knee issues ceased, I grew 1". Had left hip done 3 months later, and grew another 3/4". Walked a mile 4 weeks after 2nd op, Jogging after 6 weeks . Follow-up after ops was encyclopedic: there is no stone left unturned to avoid infection, bruising, or patient errors.

I feel so fortunate in having gone to Dr. Kelley. Not only for his surgical skills, but for the approach he takes in his practice, to help patients heal & recover fully. He is a stellar surgeon.. He provides you with a "map for success" with his videos & his caring support team. Prior to my surgery, my left side was in major distress. After surgery, I was free from pain & totally mobile within 3 wks. He sets the bar high for himself & his staff . & as his patient, you get to reap the benefit
