Professional and Knowledgeable
Dr. Pennington went above and beyond my expectations. Most doctors seem like they want to get you in, get the appointment done and move on. He legitimately made me feel like he wanted to help, was concerned for my health and well being. He is extremely knowledgeable, any questions I had, he provided a solution. Doc Pennington gives you the old-school personable feeling of a small town doc but with the field experience and knowledge you would expect from the more urban and large scale surgeons. Highly recommend!

Amazing
Dr. Pennington is one of the most honest and trustworthy doctors I’ve ever met. I had a tear in my shoulder fearing surgery Dr. Pennington placed me on a regimented game plan to avoid surgery and it worked. Most doctors would have led me in a money direction, Pennington obviously cares about his patients.

A true Professional
My wife and I have seen Dr. Pennington several times for knee, ankle, and hip pains caused by (probably too much) running and working out. He always listens to our concerns before giving his opinion and course of treatment. He has yet to mistreat either of us. I have had x-rays and CT Scans ordered as well due to my concerns for multiple pains in the same locations at different times (my fault). He always made sure to go over the scans thoroughly and make sure I understood what we were seeing. Dr. Pennington always gets me feeling better, but my overuse is the reason I have to keep seeing him! He is a super good guy, so I don’t mind going back.

Dr. Pennington listens to you and gives his expert advice on your situation. He did my surgery on my rotator cuff and it healed and it is doing well. He is the best surgeon Doctor. I would recommend Dr. Pennington to my family and friends. And. Would tell them that if they want their surgery with the best then see Dr. Pennington. I would not go to anyone else but him in his field!

Professional, listened, answered questions
Dr. Pennington made me feel at ease when reviewing the results of my MRI and his analysis of the next steps that I would need to take. He turned a potentially scary appointment into a conversation about the options I would have regarding my torn meniscus. Although I barraged him with follow up questions and what ifs, he calmly and clearly answered them. His wisdom and expertise helped me know what I should do.

Stay away from this guy
There are many reasons not see Dr. Pennington. He's very unprofessional. When he enters the room he gives you a fist bump and sits on examination table with his back slouched against the wall. He doesn't give his patients the respect of listening to them and gives you about 5 minutes of his time before he has his hand on the door, signaling to you that he's ready to leave. This has happened to me in the middle of asking questions. He is quick to diagnose without getting a full picture and when that diagnosis is incorrect, he does not take accountablity for the mistake. He has gaslighted me into think that my symptoms are not related to my injury when they involve the body part that's injured. He generally does not show any respect, compassion, or understanding of his patients. At least this has been my experience. Don't let the accolades fool you. I'm sure he is a fine surgeon, but if you do not need surgery I would avoid him at all cost.

Total rock star
Dr. Pennington treated both my left and right shoulders (2017 and 2024). I had partial rotator cuff tears, labrum tears and lots of tendinitis & tendonosis. He approached the care thoroughly and with thoughtfulness, recommended PT and now I’m almost back to full strength in the left and am beginning treatment for the right shoulder. What a rock star to advise non-surgical solutions first! He is extremely intelligent clinically, but such a down to earth human. Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Pennington.

Thorough consultation
Dr Pennington thoroughly addressed my issues and concerns. I appreciate that he made a few recommendations on a plan for treatment, one conservative and one more aggressive. We decided together to pursue the conservative approach at first and evaluate progress later.

Friendly and Very Personable
This is the second time I see Dr. Pennington for 2 unrelated shoulder issues. Every time he’s been extremely friendly and personable. He’s very conservative with his approach to treatment and gives the patient various options without pushing a particular one. Rather, he’ he takes the time to listen to the patient’s concerns and gives his perfeccionad professional opinion for each one with the pros and cons. The outside is very efficient and friendly as well.

Knees and hip issues
Th appt was on time, x-rays at visit. I have an immune disease that affect my motor skills so I have falling a lot do to reduced motor function and during the visit the doctor reviews the x-rays several times after see my condition of my knees to make sure my current use of leg braces were assisting even though he had not recommended them but agree that they were very important to support my knees. I have had cancer also for the last fe years and now in remission. He even revie th x-rays for potential of cancer moving to my bone. He really anted to help me feel better. Since I can’t have surgery till late 2023 or early 2024, he has a plan to relieve the pain and recommended that I continue to wear the braces assisting to off load th pressure on the knees high are severally damaged from life and cancer. I hold recommend Dr Pennington to any one other knee o hip issues.

Amazing doctor and fabulous person.
Dr Pennington is amazing. I’ve known and trusted him for years. When my mother was in her 80s and getting frail, she fell and broke her shoulder. Dr. Pennington rebuilt and repaired it with an incredibly complicated surgery involving 12 screws and assorted other metal parts. It worked perfectly and with little to no pain - That arm was the best, most reliable part of her body, forever thereafter! Not only is he an amazing surgeon, but he’s an even better person - if that’s possible. He is unfailingly kind attentive and personable … My mother was kind in her judgements with many folks - especially doctors- but Scott Pennington was one of her favorite & most trusted people til her dying day. I’ve also been to him for less severe knee problems, as well as other orthopedic advice and have come to know him personally… If Dr. Pennington tells you anything, you can absolutely rely on it … I just couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Welcoming, highly skilled, unrushed
Dr. Pennington and the staff at Peachtree Orthopedics were all warmly welcoming, patient, and clearly competent in their fields, from front desk support to technician to nurse to doc. Wait time was minimal, visit was efficient but felt unrushed, information was delivered clearly, questions were fully addressed, and instructions were clear. Highly recommend.
