Spinal surgery
Well I’m getting old. But want to continue to be active and to work. I’m an RN. Worked CCU, Step down, med surg,, and overflow patients in Fast track ED. 21 yr hot working as an RN. So with DDD, spinal stenosis, arthritis, and a few injuries leading to bulging discs x3, I place the future of my active life in Dr. Scott Russo’s capable hands. I’m currently heeling, post op about 2.5 weeks and in a couple weeks will start PT. I would highly recommend him and his staff at Blodgett Hospital. I’m confident that I will recover well and be better than ever! Thank you to Dr. Russo and his explanation of my procedure, online education given by way of videos before my surgery and with my follow up after surgery. . Also thank you to the exceptional office staff at OAM who returned all my calls and helped me with my abundant questions and prepared me for this big event in my life. . My overall experience was one of having confidence, thankfulness for him and his exceptional surgical skills.

Rectifying a crooked old man
I was sent pre registration information and forms to fill out. Upon arrival I was met with efficient and responsive admissions after a brief was i was brought to the examination room and went through collection of vitals and answered questions concerning my health and specific issues I had with my back. Dr Russo came in a gave a broad view of my specific condition and what he believed he was going to be able to proceed with correction of my stenonosis (more than just that but that is a brief summary). The corrective procedures needed were going to be extensive. Dr Russo emphasized what I needed to do to get prepared and assist in allowing me to have the greatest impact of being healed. He was very passionate on whole health along with the mechanical work he would be doing to reduce my back pain. Subsequent visits built on this theme and built my confidence in a positive attitude and outcome of his treatments.

Impeccable and personalized care
The visit was started by a Resident. Dr S Russo was precise, had the MRI reviewed ahead of time and was spot on. The personal touch really caring is a lost art in the medical field. I was able to ask all the questions and got clear and concise answersThe best of the best!

Total disregard for patient.
Chosen by comp he completely disregarded my MRI results and other surgeons. Very short and rude. I left crying, unable to understand how he could be that way to another human in so much pain with a trama injury to spine.

Seemed Extremely Knowledgeable
I felt like my consultation was just what I needed! I did have to wait 2 months to get in to see Dr Russo but after out consultation, I feel like I can trust this doctor and will continue to see him. I’m looking forward to the next steps that I have to take to fix my spinal stenosis, herniated disk, and possibly needing a hip replacement!

Skilled surgeon
My only issue is the doctor talked continuously leaving me no time to ask questions or get more information. Friendly but quick like he already had an agenda and didn’t need to hear my story. I left with many unanswered questions and the visit couldn’t have been more than ten minutes.

Dr Russo is a superb surgeon. He did a big spine surgery on me in early August which involved fusing my entire lumbar spine and correcting degenerative scoliosis. I dreaded the surgery and hospital stay, but am so glad I finally went through with it. I am a walker/hiker and my pain was so bad that I was living on the couch.

Recently had a follow up visit with Dr. Scott Russo. He was very concerned with my welfare and overall progress since spinal surgery about 2 years ago. He asks the right questions and carefully answers any questions that you might have. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Russo to anyone who might be having difficulty with their spine.
