A focused and engaged specialist
Dr. Soot was very cordial and conveyed a true interest in remedying my hernia condition. He even shared Laplace's Law as it applied to physiology: the abdominal pressure (relating to any hernia repair) being proportional to the diameter of one's abdomen, to explain that the greater the girth, the more likely a hernia repair might fail long-term. It really helped me to grasp the importance of my losing about 25 lbs of gut tissue, so he could perform a surgical repair with optimal success. I quite appreciated this reference and valued his caring attitude, and will surely want his skills for the surgical repair of my umbilical hernia.
