How nice everyone was

I’m very impressed with Dr. Standard. He’s very kind and explained everything to me to make sure I understood my health plan. I’m very blessed to have had the pleasure of having him for my surgeon.

Been seeing Dr. Standard for a couple years. Very good Dr. he has helped me control pain.

He cares about his patients! He explains things well and wants to help you feel better!

I have been working with Dr Standard since 2005. He did my first surgery in 2006 to relieve the spinal stenosis, spondylitis, and bone spur in my cervical region. Then in 2009 in my lumbar region fusing several discs. I have been able to continue a very active lifestyle due to these successful surgeries. I have recommended him to many others throughout the years.

I have seen Dr. Standard several times. Each time seems the same and I kept thinking “I’ll give him another chance”. My most recent appointment on July 3, 2024, really left me in aww. I had MRIs done on my lumbar and cervical spine, due to pain in my lower back and left outer and inner hip area. I was told nothing significant was found and I should really do PT. He didn’t listen to was I told him when I informed him of what my primary Dr. had done until I was able to see Dr. Standard. I then read my patient health summary and apparently I “complained bitterly” I feel so belittled and unheard. I have been in constant pain and just want to know why. I will be seeing about a second opinion and I will not be recommending him to anyone I know.

Dr Standard literary saved my life I came into the hospital as an incomplete quadriplegic Dr Standard went into action after emergency surgery he was able to release my cord and put a plate in -I was told I would never walk again after two years later and a lot of hard work I am on a walker thank you to the kindness and compassion from the entire staff of Dr Standard

Dr Standard was a concerned listener and gave me valuable feedback on my situation. I appreciated his demeanour and his thoughtful approach to advising me

I called Howell Allen clinic, to see if i can get a sooner appointment. They informed me that Dr. Standard would see me if i got there before 11am. I get there and i check in and the nurse takes me back and everyone was so nice, well not everyone. Dr. Standard came in with a piece of paper only. Asked me what was going on i explained to him. He hadn't looked at my imaging didn't explain it to me but he did stay for about 5 minutes. I didn't feel heard or important.

Wasn’t impressed with the patient care I received, I arrived at the hospital about 6:45 to get ahead of all the traffic so I got there early for my 7:30 appointment and doctor Standard might have spent 5 minutes with me. Never examined my legs was pretty much in and out in just a few minutes. I’m not giving up and will try again but really do expect more patient care. So at the end of my appointment I didn’t learn a single thing other than pass me off for some other test from other places and some point when they get me in.

I have been to see Dr. Standard several times and he does not listen to my concerns or provide me with any assistance. I had to wait an hour this last visit and he was in there with me for 5 minutes. He acted surprised when I mentioned my second MRI so I don’t think he actually looked at it. I felt very dismissed and my problems were unimportant.

A very compassionate doctor very understanding about my emotional state of mind having gone through the physical aspects of my injuries

I had stroke like symptoms, found out it was a benign brain tumor. Dr. Standard and team made the whole process of diagnosis, surgery and recovery very quick, professional and comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Standard.

Dr. Standard spent all of 5 minutes with us. He seemed uninterested and didn’t seem to want to be there.

The whole office was very professional, understanding, pleasant, & caring. I would recommend Dr Standard and his staff.

I’m sure Dr Standard is a fine Dr. And I’m also sure my situation seemed less important and serious than many of those he sees. I get that. However, I saw him for maybe 5 minutes. He said I have bone spurs and will benefit from PT. I have lower back pain and I also explained the radiating pain ( or I guess it is ) to my right outer hip area and he said nothing. All I got was I have bone spurs in my lower back and to go to PT. I was with him long enough to get that, but he offered nothing else. I then rode an hour home hurting in the right outer hip area wondering why that continues to be so painful. I had an MRI and X-rays prior to seeing him. It was as if I shouldn’t have even been there. I’m thankfully not used to having chronic pain as this consistent pain is fairly new to me. But I would have appreciated more input from him. I guess the office FULL on a Friday afternoon, I saw as I was leaving, explains it. His office staff was very personable and helpful.

By far the best neck and spine surgeon. I had to have a high risk surgery. This was not an option. He was so great with helping me understand the risks and calmed me down before I went in for surgery. I have never felt better and would highly recommend Dr. Standard as a truly incredible physician and surgeon.

Dr.Standard’s experience makes me have total confidence in him. He answers all questions and provides all the time needed.
