Office staff are rude.
If the goal of the office staff is to prevent people from being seen then this woman deserves 5 stars. She is a complete obstructionist with zero compassion. Came up with numerous reasons why I couldn’t “have an appointment” -TRICARE has to approve a referral. FALSE I have TRICARE select. Martin army has to give a referral. FALSE-we retired from the military years ago and Martin army has nothing to with our insurance. The referral hasn’t come in. FALSE-was on the phone with my provider when they sent it. She was extremely rude over and over again did not answer the phone or return my voicemails and at one point hung up on me mid sentence! I had waited the weekend already and I urgently needed an appointment with a hand surgeon. (embarrassingly enough I started to cry)-I am a farmer with an injury to my thumb, causing me the inability to use my RIGHT hand. A DAY AND A HALF LATER She finally calls to schedule an appointment. Thankfully, I was able to get in with another surgeon.

Lack of response to phone calls.
I had surgery to stabilize/repair a fractured bone in my wrist. Upon discharge I was told I could call at any time if I had concerns and someone would get back to me ASAP. I have had to call twice. About a week after surgery my wrist was itching and burning so badly i was in tears, I was told to call back during office hours. Today, Monday, I called during office hours because my index finger has been numb since Sat evening (the first question asked at appts is have I had any numbness). I had to leave a message and haven't heard from anyone and 6-7 hrs my finger is still numb. I get excellent care during appts, but problems don't always wait til you have an appt.

He was overly restrictive - wanted no exercise, even with a cast, for a partial tear of a thumb ligament. Not good for a 14 year old boy. I switched doctors and received a better treatment plan.

Not very likely as it seems that its almost an inconvenience to take the time to answer his patients questions or to make a phone call to share results. The staff is not considerate of the patients. It may take a week for a response from the nurses and it may take a month or more to hear results.

He is very friendly and personable; listened to my complaints; didn't treat me like my problem was all in my head; scheduled appropriate tests to figure out what was wrong; great follow-up after surgery. As far as the outcome, I was not able to get back the entire range of motion, but I'm satisfied with resolution of my issue and my scar is hardly noticeable. He is a competent doctor and I am glad he performed my surgery.

Dr. Sean Blake is a male physician. He is very compassionate with every patient. I had a CMC Arthroplasty left thumb in February 2017. He has been very professional and caring at the same time. He takes pride in his work and it shows. Columbus is very lucky to have such a talented surgeon. His specialty is hand surgery. I would NOT go to anyone else! I have arthritis in my hands and he only does surgery if it is really needed. 100% satisfied!!

Dr. Blake is an amazing doctor and I highly recommend. After I broke my hand badly a year ago, Dr. Blake made me feel completely at ease, took time to explain what he was going to do, and fixed my hand so that today I have full range of motion, full strength, and zero pain, as if I never broke it to begin with. Amazing work, amazing doctor, and an godly man who cares about his patients and the quality of treatment he gives. If you have a problem with your hand, he's the one you want to see.

Saw Dr. Blake for the first time today. He has an amazing bedside manner (he takes the time to explain without talking down to you) and makes sure that you understand exactly what is going on with your body and how he can fix it. The entire staff was personable and professional -- not a combo you usually find in medicine today.

My experience with Dr. Blake was horrific to say very little. They tell you before surgery that a part they install can fail . And the Dr. Should be aware and not so complacent to not be aware that when a patient is complaining about the part something can be horribly wrong . As in my surgery in which I was complaining about what was bothering my hand . That which I was complaining about should have been addressed immediately not allowing the part cause such major damage to cause more surgery .

Wonderful experience with Dr. Blake from the moment he entered the room. Very knowledgeable and caring for my problems/pain with my right hand. Had surgery for carpel tunnel - and the pain after surgery was not as it was prior to surgery. Healed beautifully and now will certainly have my left hand fixed.

First and foremost Dr Sean Blake is a very down to earth, intelligent and kind man before a doctor. That is a rare thing to find in this time and day. He is an excellent doctor. He made me feel like I was in good hands, and was kind and informative. These things are so important. So many doctors miss that in our fast-paced lives. I would recommend him to all! He loves what he does and talks about his family with love and pride. He is really a blessing to have close if needed.
