OUTSTANDING
Dr Donahue performed surgery to help me with Adult Strabismus. Before the surgery he did a thorough examination and was able to relieve the anxiety I felt about having 'eye surgery.' Dr. Donahue did impeccable work and virtually all of the problem has been resolved. I've gone from wearing glasses with maximum prisms to no prisms at all!! This outcome was way beyond my expectations and it's no wonder that Dr. Donahue is recognized as one of the nation's best surgeons in his specialty. I am very grateful for his care and those assistants who work with him. They are a great team and I feel blessed for the work they did for me.

I read a post where they are trying to force a well visit on a family and if they refuse to go they doctor put in writing they will contact child protective services and report the family. This is after they went to two visits and the doctor said the child is fine.

Dr spent VERY little time with me, didn't listen, didn't look at my MRI (ordered by another doctor), and told me to my face that he was sure I didn't have the disease the next specialist conclusively diagnosed.

4 of my 5 children have vision issues. I have seen Dr. Donahue many times. He has performed 3 surgeries on my children. Yes I have waited many long hours in his waiting room and in the exam room. Dr. Donahue is brilliant, and I would wait longer if needed for my children. He saved my oldest son's vision. Parents, do what he says and wait patiently....it is so worth it! I have trusted Vanderbilt eye doctors for the best vision my children can have....I will continue!

I adore Dr. Donahue... I’m astounded by the one star reviews... this is NOT the doctor I know and love! The reason for the long waits are that he takes time with each patient, or at least that is MY experience. I never felt hurried, he answered every question, and my bilateral eye muscle resection went great. I’m going back for a second surgery because a car wreck with airbag involvement has messed up the left eye, and I don’t trust anyone but Dr. Donahue to correct it.

We were in a study after my son's surgery and followed up the next few years. As he got older, we told Donahue every visit that something wasn't right, and he blew us off every time. We went elsewhere, and were told my son had monocular vision! By that time, it was too late to do anything. Guess a doctor with a whole alphabet of credentials behind his name somehow missed it because it didn't fit in with his study, or he's incompetent. Either way, my son gets to deal with it the rest of his life.

Long waits in his waiting room, way past appointment time. He is also not very pro active. Read the other reviews. I do not recommend.
