Actually listens, actually cares

We flew my son to Shirley Ryan Ability Lab with a spinal cord injury after a diving accident. You can't imagine how difficult this was for him and us. Dr. Dreyer had a way of connecting with him and us as his family and just made us feel hopeful again. He was available for all of our questions about what to expect, and his answers were easy to understand. I don't know how else to phrase this but we looked forward to seeing him every morning and he made us feel like he was happy to be on this journey with us. We also loved seeing him in clinic visits after my son was discharged. We're sad to hear Dr. Dreyer is leaving Chicago because he's finishing residency, but others with spinal cord injuries will be lucky to have him wherever he ends up.
