Excellent Surgeon
Happy New Year Dr Garrean! He performed surgery on me yesterday , i was his last patient on New Years Eve and he was upbeat and had tremendous compassion for me and my husband. He always made me feel like he was concerned that I understood everything that he was trying to explain in a professional manor but on my level also . He definitely has a good rating from all his nurses also. When I gave my concerns to them ,they always said I had the best. The whole experience was outstanding, especially for me with dealing with a surgical procedure in such a private part of the body!I highly recommend this Colon Surgeon

I went to Dr. Garrean and got a colonoscopy because I was constipated. Then, I had a surgery from what he found. However, while at home recovering he had me on narcotics which exacerbated my initial symptom of constipation. I called his office/staff multiple times to voice my concern and ask if I should stop or use stool softener. They reiterated that I needed to take the narcotic and no other medicines. It got very bad and then I had to go the ER and have another operation for fecal impaction. And then another. Let’s just say I switched doctors. I no longer felt comfortable being in his care.

Scheduling staff unclear of colonic transit study testing guidelines causing confusion at hospital and extra trip for X-ray. After study, I learned of my diagnosis through a pharmacy where prescription was called in without any discussion or heads up AND to wrong pharmacy. Pleasant enough nurse but unable to answer specific questions about the test. Call needed to have come from Dr. I cancelled my upcoming colonoscopy. Dr. Garrean had NOT earned my trust. Comedy of errors in my opinion.

This doctor performs colonoscopies; however, he is not a gastroenterologist. That in itself is a disqualification in my opinion. I was naive and accepted a recommendation from my primary physician in the Parkview network to use Dr. Garrean to perform a colonoscopy. During the colonoscopy I was injected with an excessive amount of midalozam, a sedative that causes patient amnesia and the same drug being eliminated for use in state executions. I was immobilized for 2 days and in bed for 2 mos.

I was referred to Dr. Garrean by my family physician. I phoned his office and the same day within 3 hours I was able to see him for a consolation. That in its self is unbelievable. He entered the room and as he introduced himself to my husband and myself I knew right away what a kind person he was. He took the time with us to explain my problems in the terms we could understand and in such a very caring way. I would highly recommend Dr. Garrean to anyone needing a consolation.Nancy Geiselman

I would not recommend him for anything. His level of post surgery care is poor at best and his answer to any question I had was that is normal or dump the question off to the stoma nurse who is no better at answering my questions

Never thought I would have confidence in another doctor after Dr. Raiman retired but Dr. Garrean more than took his place. I was more than happy to be put under Dr. Garrean's care. His bedside manner is the best and the concern he has for his patients couldn't be better. After having colon cancer many years ago I am more than happy to have Dr. Garrean monitor my health. I wouldn't want any other doctor handling my care.

1. missed signs of c diff for months; another dr diagnosed 2. not specific with np @ er when telling her to prescribe nitro cream for fissure. It was prescribed in wrong concentration, and I was @ the er with dangerously low BP. 3. During banding on internal hemorrhoids, placed bands too high, resulting in extreme pain. I was in er, and he did not take me back into surgery to fix. 4. missed large fissure turning to fistula when I complained of it. A 2nd opinion caught and treated. Very negligent
