Dr Sergio Fefer did a cancer removal from my kidney but his after care is appallingly criminally negligent. I have not seen him or a fellow doctor since my surgery and twice while in terrible pain was unable to reach him or an on-call doctor from either his Weymouth south shore Urology or his Harvard Vanguard Urology practice. Only after an ER and Urgent care visit was my primary care able to reach someone. Ending up with an infection He finally called me a day later. I unsuccessfully tried to reach him for a week and a half to get my biopsy results and even when scheduled for my staples removal a week after surgery, I was scheduled with the wrong practice and had to practically beg to get a nurse to remove them. NEVER USE HIM AT SOUTH SHOTE UROLOGY OR HARVARD VANGUARD.

Listens carefully about your symptoms, factors in your age, and explains what the options are. Answers your question no matter how mundane. A good guy who knows his stuff. Not a pill pusher.

I had gone to urgent care for bleeding but they were unsure of source. We ruled out rectal. I went to see Dr Fefer as I had seen him in the past for difficulty urinating. I was on the table, in the position when I heard him yelling “what is she doing here” He scolded me during the exam then pulled me aside after. I was carrying my crutch due to snow and history of falling. He made fun of me for carrying it. He then told me he only treated cancer patients. I was dx with fibroid on my cervix .

I first saw Dr. Fefer in 2011. I was referred to him by my PCP of 25 years. Dr. Fefer is an extremely likable and a regular down to earth guy. He takes ample time to listen and explain. He is very conservative and thorough in his reasoning. I literally trust him with my life. His staff think very highly of him as well. They tell me that he is an outstanding surgeon; although, I hope never to learn that first hand. If ever do need surgery, without hesitation, Dr. Fefer would be my choice

i have brought my Uncle and Mother to Dr. Fefer several times. I cannot say enough good things about him or his staff. He is very intelligent and caring to his patients. He also has a sense of humor which helps in this field.

Dr Fefer has been my doctor for the past 11 years. He is very caring, takes the time to listen to your concerns and explains everything very thoroughly. I would definitely recommend Dr Fefer.
