No Follow-up Care
When he had me do diagnostic tests, he was unaware of the results.He was OK during the pre-Op appointment. I had a question for him the day before the surgery and he only very reluctantly talked with me. He wasn't helpful or friendly. I had trouble after the surgery and left a message on his emergency line. I never got a call back from him. I had to go to the ER to have the problem addressed. A couple of days later I needed to go to the ER again. He was on duty and saw me. It was the quickest visit I ever had with a doctor. He didn't even really exam me.The office didn't schedule an after surgery follow-up appointment. I had to wait beyond the hospital's recommended time to see him. For a GI scoping procedure, the office never ordered the PEG prescription. I had to have someone else order it.Totally unfriendly office.

Dr Lugo performed 2 hernia operations on me. After the second one failed in less than a year I went to another surgeon and he said the mesh was not over the tear on the second surgery and that the first surgery was not actually a hernia, but a different problem. The new surgeon was much more competent and he removed the mesh and replaced mesh over the tear. I would not recommend Dr Lugo as my experience with him indicates he is incompetent.
